UPNA calls for a researcher to design storage systems

The Public University of Navarra (UPNA) has announced a selection process for the employment of research personnel as a project assistant, intended for the development of the research project “PID2022-139914OB-I00”. The call is detailed in Resolution 1928/2026, dated August 1, from the Vice-Rector for Research, published in the Official Gazette of Navarra number 169, dated August 27, 2026, on page 30671.

The selected person will join the team led by the principal investigator Alfredo Ursúa Rubio, University Professor assigned to the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Communication Engineering at UPNA. The resolution, signed by the Vice-Rector for Research Martín Larraza Quintana, is part of the public employment offer of the Chartered Community of Navarra and is funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities (MICIU/AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Position Profile and Functions

The contract will be formalized under the modality of a scientific-technical activities contract, in accordance with Article 23 bis of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on Science, Technology, and Innovation. The duration will be indefinite, linked to the research project, with a part-time schedule.

  • Functions: design and modeling of storage systems, as well as development and validation of algorithms.
  • Remuneration: those outlined in the annex of the UPNA Research Personnel Recruitment Regulations, approved by the Governing Council agreement of May 3, 2017, updated to the year 2026.
  • Funding: MICIU/AEI (code 10.13039/501100011033) and ERDF, EU.

Requirements and Submission of Applications

To participate, applicants must meet the general requirements of nationality and capacity, and provide proof of the official academic degree of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology Engineering. The deadline for submitting applications will be ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of Navarra.

Registration will be carried out electronically through the UPNA electronic office, attaching the required documentation:

  • Photocopy of the national identity document, NIE, or passport.
  • Photocopy of the degree required in the call.
  • Photocopy of the academic transcript, specifying the grade point average.
  • Curriculum vitae with supporting documents for merits deemed appropriate.

Evaluation Process and Selection Committee

The evaluation will be carried out using a merits scale and, if applicable, a personal interview. The minimum score to pass the process will be 60 points, and the generated hiring list will be valid for three years.

  • Academic record: up to 60 points.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, courses, and other merits: up to 10 points.
  • Previous experience: up to 10 points.
  • Personal interview: up to 20 points.

The selection committee will be chaired by Pablo Sanchis Gúrpide, University Professor, with Alfredo Ursúa Rubio as secretary and Alberto Berrueta Irigoyen as member. The alternates are Luis Marroyo Palomo, Eugenio Gubía Villabona, and Jesús López Taberna, all of whom are assigned to the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Communication Engineering at UPNA.
