UPNA seeks project assistant for photocatalysis and gas sensors

The Public University of Navarra (UPNA) has opened a selection process to hire, under a labor regime, a person as a project assistant, with a predominantly research character, for the development of the research project “PID2023-150078OB-I00”. This is established by Resolution 2148/2026, of September 1, from the Vice-Rector for Research, Martín Larraza Quintana, published in the Official Gazette of Navarra number 180, on September 11, 2026.
The call responds to the request made on August 28 by the Research Service, with the responsible researcher being Cristina Gómez Polo, university professor attached to the Department of Sciences. The project is funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by ERDF, EU, and the hiring will be carried out through the scientific-technical activities contract modality, in accordance with article 23 bis of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on Science, Technology and Innovation.
Position Profile and Functions
The selected person will join full-time with an indefinite duration contract linked to the project. The functions to be developed focus on three lines of work:
- Photocatalysis under a magnetic field.
- Fabrication and characterization of gas sensor elements based on metal oxides.
- Gas detection through the design and calibration of prototypes.
To participate, an official academic degree in Physics, a Degree in Sciences, or related qualifications are required, as well as being over 18 years of age and not having reached the retirement age. Degrees obtained abroad must have the corresponding certificate of equivalence or accreditation.
Deadline and Submission of Applications
Applications shall be submitted electronically through the electronic headquarters of the Public University of Navarra, within a period of ten business days counting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of Navarra. The following must be attached to the application:
- Photocopy of the DNI, NIE, or passport.
- Photocopy of the required degree.
- Photocopy of the academic transcript, specifying the grade point average.
- Curriculum vitae with supporting documents for merits deemed appropriate.
Evaluation Process and Selection Committee
Selection will be carried out through the assessment of merits according to the scale in Annex II, which awards up to 50 points for the academic record, 5 for previous experience, 5 for other merits, and 40 for the personal interview, with a minimum score of 25 points required to pass the process. The selection committee is chaired by José Ignacio Pérez de Landazábal Berganzo, with Cristina Gómez Polo as secretary and Eneko Garayo Urabayen as member, all from the Department of Sciences.
The resulting hiring list will be valid for three years and may be used to cover staffing needs with the same category and functions in other projects, contracts, or agreements of the research group. All subsequent actions will be published on the official electronic notice board of the UPNA.
