Jaume I University appoints Beatriz Gómez as Vice-Rector for Economy and R&D+i

The Rectorate of the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló has appointed Beatriz Gómez Martínez as Vice-Manager of Economy and R&D+i through the system of free appointment. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of September 21, 2026, published in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) no. 10460, of September 28, 2026, within section II, Authorities and personnel, section B) Appointments and dismissals. The selection process

The position had been announced through the Resolution of July 15, 2026, by the rector of the Universitat Jaume I (DOGV 10411, of July 23, 2026), which opened the provision by free appointment for the position of vice-manager of Economy and R&D+i of the public university of Castellón.

Prior to the appointment, the university’s Management issued a mandatory and binding report on September 16, 2026, regarding the fulfillment of requirements and the suitability of the application submitted. According to the resolution, the candidate is suitable to hold the position due to her training, experience, commitment, and professionalism in the exercise of her duties, as well as meeting the required profile.

The resolution is based on articles 110 and 115 of Law 4/2021, of April 16, on the Valencian public service, and articles 58 and following of Decree 3/2017, of January 13, of the Consell, which approves the Regulations for selection, provision of job positions, and mobility of personnel in the Valencian public service.

Position characteristics and calendar

The Rectorate’s agreement details the conditions of the assigned destination:

• Appointed person: Beatriz Gómez Martínez, career civil servant of the superior administration scale of the Universitat Jaume I, with NRP 532[…]7G0.
• Job position: number 10703, vice-manager of Economy and R&D+i.
• Remuneration: destination supplement level 30 and specific supplement E050.
• Provision system: free appointment.
• Termination of current position: ex officio on September 30, 2026.
• Assumption of office in the new destination: October 1, 2026.

Appeal process

The resolution, signed in Castellón de la Plana on September 21, 2026, by rector Jesús Lancis Sáez, exhausts the administrative route. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the same body that issued the act within one month from the day following publication, or directly as a contentious-administrative appeal before the contentious-administrative court of Castellón de la Plana within two months, also from the day following publication, without prejudice to any other appeal deemed appropriate.

Relevance

The Vice-Management of Economy and R&D+i is a central piece in the management of a public university: it concentrates the economic administration and the channeling of research funds, an area that is especially sensitive due to the volume of grants, contracts, and competitive projects handled by the Universitat Jaume I.
