La Universidad Pablo de Olavide convoca ayudas sociales para el curso 2026-2027

The Pablo de Olavide University of Seville, through its Vice-Rectorate for Students, has announced the social grants for the 2026-2027 academic year, aimed at undergraduate and master’s students facing economic difficulties. The resolution, dated October 9, 2026, is signed by the rector Francisco Oliva Blázquez and is published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) number 201, dated October 16, 2026, under text no. 13532.

The call is part of the commitment of the Pablo de Olavide University to ensure equal opportunities and minimize the effects of adverse economic situations, as set out in Article 111 of its Statutes. The academic institution is sponsored by the Dos Hermanas City Council, thus maintaining a line of action already deployed in previous academic years.

Funding and Recipients

The grants have an initial allocation of 10,000.00 euros, charged to organic item 18.02.40.02.13 422E 483, an amount that may be increased based on greater budget availability for social grants for students. Management is the responsibility of the Vice-Rectorate for Students, within the Own Plan for Scholarships and Grants for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Generally, undergraduate students from degrees at UPO’s own centers and official Master’s students from the Pablo de Olavide University may apply. Two types of aid are contemplated:

  • Grants for students with economic difficulties to cover, preferably, their tuition fees or living expenses during their studies.
  • Grants for those who claim a drastic decrease in the income of their family unit or other situations of special impact on their academic experience that prevent or hinder the continuation of studies during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Excluded are the beneficiaries of the General Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports for the 2026/2027 academic year, the beneficiaries of the Pablo de Olavide University’s Own Scholarship, and those who hold an official university degree of the same or higher level than the studies for which the grant is requested.

Requirements and Income Thresholds

The call requires that one of these two circumstances occur: unforeseen situations that happened during the 2026/2027 academic year for reasons of humanitarian interest, or situations of social or economic vulnerability produced in 2025 and/or 2026. A drastic decrease in income is understood to exist when the family unit’s income drops by at least 30% during 2026.

Persons whose family income exceeds these thresholds will not be beneficiaries:

  • 1-member family: 14,818.00 euros.
  • 2-member family: 25,293.00 euros.
  • 3-member family: 34,332.00 euros.
  • 4-member family: 40,773.00 euros.
  • 5-member family: 45,572.00 euros.
  • 6-member family: 49,196.00 euros.
  • 7-member family: 52,780.00 euros.
  • 8-member family: 56,348.00 euros.
  • From the eighth member onwards, 3,561.00 euros will be added for each new member.

Deadline, application, and evaluation

The application period will remain open from the day following the publication of the resolution in the BOJA until March 10, 2027. The application is submitted using the form available on the Official Electronic Notice Board (TEO) of the UPO, through the Generic Request of its electronic office, or by any of the means provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.

The required documentation includes the application form, the NIF of all members of the family unit —NIE in the case of foreign students—, proof of unfavorable economic situation issued by paying entities, and authorization to consult economic data with the AEAT.

The study of the applications and the selection of beneficiaries is the responsibility of the Evaluation Commission, composed of:

  • The Vice-Rector for Students, as president.
  • The Director General of Institutional Projection or their delegate.
  • The Director General of Students or their delegate.
  • The General Delegate for Students or their delegate.
  • The Head of the Scholarships and Grants Unit, as secretary.

Incompatibilities and notifications

The grants are incompatible with any other grant intended for the same purpose called by a public administration or private institution, and anyone who receives a grant with an identical purpose must return the amount received. However, the incompatibility with the scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports will not apply to the maintenance grant intended for students in a situation of economic and/or social vulnerability.

All notifications will be made through the Official Electronic Notice Board of the Pablo de Olavide University, with pseudonymized personal data. Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Seville, or optionally a motion for reconsideration within one month.

The call for applications reinforces the role of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide as a guarantor of equal access to higher education: with a modest but expandable initial endowment and a deadline extending until March 2027, the grants aim to ensure that no undergraduate or master’s student abandons their studies for economic reasons, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and unforeseen situations of special impact.
