Por FactBox Admin

The University of Zaragoza has resolved the appointment of six new professors to the body of University Associate Professors, according to the Resolution of October 9, 2026, signed by Rector Rosa María Bolea Bailo. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 206, dated October 23, 2026, in section II (Authorities and Personnel), with the official reference BOA20261023007. The appointments derive from the access competitions called last June and will take full effect upon the corresponding assumption of office.
The resolution is based on the proposals formulated by the commissions tasked with judging the access competitions for university teaching positions, called by resolution of the University of Zaragoza on June 16, 2026, and published in the Official State Gazette number 155, dated June 26, 2026. The legal framework invoked is Article 50 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System; Article 35 of Royal Decree 678/2023, of July 18, which regulates state accreditation and the regime of access competitions; and Article 83 of the Statutes of the University of Zaragoza, approved by Decree 23/2025, of February 28, of the Government of Aragon.
The six appointments, area by area
The annex of the resolution details the destination of each appointed person, along with their area of knowledge and the department of affiliation:
- Miguel Ángel Almazán Gómez, area of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis, Department of Economic Analysis.
- Daniel Campos Bacas, area of Developmental and Educational Psychology, Department of Psychology and Sociology.
- Luis Javier Lample Gracia, area of Financial Economics and Accounting, Department of Accounting and Finance.
- Ana Carmen Lucha López, area of Nursing, Department of Physiatry and Nursing.
- Beatriz Rubio Serrano, area of Applied Mathematics, Department of Applied Mathematics.
- Miguel Serrano Cored, area of Financial Economics and Accounting, Department of Accounting and Finance.
By department, Accounting and Finance adds two appointments, while Economic Analysis, Psychology and Sociology, Physiatry and Nursing, and Applied Mathematics receive one each. The areas of Financial Economics and Accounting and Fundamentals of Economic Analysis hold the greatest weight in the process, in line with previous rounds of this same competition.
A process resolved in several rounds
The publication of October 23 is the final installment of a sequence of resolutions that the University of Zaragoza has been rolling out since late September. The first batch, dated September 21, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 192, on October 2, and included Jaime García Rayado, Sofía Jiménez Calvo, and Jorge Velilla Gambó. The second, dated October 1, 2026, appeared in number 201, on October 16, featuring Raquel Langarita Tejero, Celeste Marcela León Moreno, Jorge Ortín Gracia, and Luis Vicente Borruel.
Added to these are the individual resolutions of September 23, 25, and 28, published on October 7 and 13, through which Héctor Bellido Bellón, Lorena Olmos Salvador, Burcu Gülüm Tekin, Miguel Ángel Puente Ajovín, and Javier Montero Villacampa were appointed. Together, they represent a staggered renewal of the civil service staff in areas ranging from English Philology and Telematics Engineering to Business Organization.
Assumption of Office and Appeals Process
The effects of the appointments are conditional upon the assumption of office by each interested party, which must be formalized within a maximum period of twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official State Gazette. The resolution exhausts the administrative route in accordance with article 38.4 of Organic Law 2/2023.
A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against it within two months before the High Court of Justice of Aragon, in accordance with article 10.1.a) of Law 29/1998, of July 13. Alternatively, a motion for reconsideration may be filed before the same rectoral body within one month, in which case the contentious-administrative appeal cannot be raised until an express resolution is issued or a presumed dismissal occurs, according to articles 30.4, 123, and 124 of Law 39/2015.
The impact of this publication is twofold: it consolidates the civil service staff of the University of Zaragoza in departments with transversal teaching and closes, at least in this phase, the process opened in June. For students and teaching teams, the changes will translate into the final assignment of areas and departments with the academic year already underway.
