La Universidad de Oviedo convoca 107 becas Santander de microcredenciales 2026

The University of Oviedo has announced, through a competitive process, the second edition of the Santander Micro-credentials Scholarships Program 2026: 107 grants of 300 euros each to cover the tuition fees for these lifelong learning studies. The decision rests with the Rector, who signed the Resolution of October 23, 2026, which approves the guidelines, establishes the call for applications, and authorizes the expenditure of 32,100 euros. The full text is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) no. 213, dated November 4, 2026, under official reference 2026-08948, and its summary appears in the same issue under reference 2026-08902.

An agreement with the bank and urgent processing

The call is supported by the General Collaboration Agreement signed between the University of Oviedo and Banco Santander on July 24, 2024, under clause 2.1, Employability Axis, Micro-credentials Program. The initiative seeks to promote lifelong learning and improve national and international employability for those pursuing micro-credentials or other equivalent continuous training certifications.

The total amount amounts to 32,100.00 euros, charged to budget application 08.01.423R.481.21 of the 2026 university budget, distributed across 107 scholarships of 300 euros. For reasons of public interest and to comply with the deadlines set by Banco Santander, the processing has been declared urgent in accordance with Article 33 of Law 39/2015, in line with the Resolution of September 17, 2026, from the Vice-Rector for Transfer and Corporate Relations. The call is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 938049.

Requirements and included micro-credentials

Those who are over 18 years of age at the start of teaching and are enrolled, or have been enrolled, in any of the following listed micro-credentials may apply for the grant:

  • Blockchain technologies, smart contracts, decentralized applications, and web 3.0 (3rd edition).
  • Regenerative entrepreneurship. How to undertake from life: from dream to business and legacy.
  • Practical training in notarial law.
  • Tunnel operation and exploitation course.
  • How to prepare financial projections in the company.
  • Accessibility and communication support technologies.
  • Techniques and resources for accessible communication.
  • Fundamentals of the Vinjoy model for advanced socio-educational intervention.
  • Specialized certification in user experience and digital sales conversion.
  • Any other micro-credential from the second semester of 2026 with enrollment finalized by the closing date.

The distribution consists of ten scholarships per micro-credential, reserving 17 for those incorporated until the deadline; unapplied scholarships are prorated among those that have filled their quota, according to the demand registered in the bank’s application. The application requires a dual process: registration on the Santander Open Academy platform and submission through the specific procedure of the University of Oviedo electronic office, including Annex A (application), Annex B (bank details), and Annex C (declaration of being up to date with obligations), in addition to ID, tuition payment receipt, and supporting documentation.

Deadlines, evaluation, and payment

The submission period is ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOPA, that is, from November 5, 2026. The evaluation is governed by a priority scale:

  • 20 points for recognized disability equal to or greater than 33%, unemployment with a DARDE certificate, status as a victim of gender-based violence, or belonging to a large or single-parent family.
  • 10 points for risk of social exclusion accredited by social services or for being a beneficiary of the minimum vital income.

The Evaluation Commission is chaired by the Vice-Rector for Transfer and Relations with Business, with the director and deputy director of the IUDE+Center for Own Teachings and a professor teaching micro-credentials as members; the Head of the Own Teachings Service acts as secretary, with a voice but no vote. Beneficiaries will have five business days to accept, and the Rector will resolve within a maximum of eight days from the final proposal. The aid is materialized through a total or partial tuition waiver or a refund if already paid, and it is not exempt from IRPF taxation.

Impact for students

The call reinforces the catalog of own teachings of the University of Oviedo with private funding and arrives with urgent processing, so interested students must act quickly: they only have ten business days and a dual electronic registration. The scholarships are compatible with other grants provided they do not exceed the total cost of the activity, and their fixed amount of 300 euros covers part of the price of micro-credentials oriented toward employability and professional updating.
