The University of La Rioja appoints six auxiliary career civil servants

The University of La Rioja has appointed six candidates who passed the competitive examination process as career civil servants of the Administrative Auxiliary Scale, according to Resolution 1404/2026, dated September 7, signed by Rector Eva Sanz Arazuri. The agreement, which assigns a destination to each of the new public employees, is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja number 177, dated September 15, 2026, in section II of Authorities and Personnel.

Those appointed must take office within one month starting from the day following the publication of the resolution in the gazette. At the time of formalizing the taking of office, they must present the declaration of incompatibilities provided for in article 13 of Royal Decree 598/1985 and pledge allegiance to the Constitution, the Statute of Autonomy of La Rioja, and the rest of the legal system, in accordance with article 62.1 c) of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.

A competitive examination selection process

The appointment culminates an access process convened by Resolution 341/2025, dated February 24, by the Rector of the University of La Rioja, published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja on February 26, 2025. The proposal was submitted by the Tribunal in charge of judging the selection tests, which verified that the candidates met the requirements demanded to be appointed as career civil servants.

The resolution is issued in accordance with article 62 of Legislative Royal Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, and in exercise of the competence attributed by article 67.ñ of the Statutes of the University of La Rioja.

The six new civil servants and their destinations

The candidates are listed in the annex of the resolution, ordered according to the final score obtained and stating the destinations assigned to them. In the open category, the following have been appointed:

• Teresa Velasco Cruces, assigned to the Sports Activities Service.
• Emma Pérez Santana, assigned to the Research Management Service.
• Sara Marcilla Pérez, assigned to the Service Inspection.
• Irene Rivero Ramírez, assigned to the Student Office Service.
• Magdalena Cañas Coromina, assigned to the Office of International Relations and University Social Responsibility.

In the reserve category for personnel with disabilities, Andresa Pilar Arnedo González has been appointed, assigned to the Student Office Service.

Appeals against the resolution

This resolution exhausts all administrative remedies. An appeal for judicial review may be filed before the Administrative Litigation Section of the Court of First Instance of Logroño within two months from the day following its publication, or an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the issuing body within one month, in which case the judicial review appeal may not be filed until an express resolution is issued or a presumed dismissal occurs, in accordance with Articles 123 et seq. of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.

With this appointment, the University of La Rioja consolidates its administrative and services staff, incorporating six new career civil servants who will reinforce key services such as student support, research management, or sports activities. The filling of these positions, the result of a public competitive examination process, guarantees the stability of university public employment and the continuity of the services that the institution provides to the Riojan university community.
