The University of Burgos announces five mobility scholarships for future teachers

The Rectorate of the University of Burgos has announced five short-term physical mobility grants for students in the Blended Intensive Programs (BIP) Graphic Narratives for Belonging, Wellbeing and Social Innovation in Education, according to the extract of the Resolution of September 1, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 172, dated September 4, 2026. The grants amount to a maximum of 5,000 euros, and applications may be submitted until September 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

The call, identified by number BDNS 927490 in the National Grants Database, is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text can be consulted on the Ministry’s grants portal.

Recipients and objective of the program

Regular students enrolled at the University of Burgos during the 2026/2027 academic year in the following studies may apply for the grants:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education Teaching
• University Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching

The program seeks to train future teachers in innovative pedagogical strategies to address challenges related to wellbeing, inclusion, sense of belonging, resilience, and student participation. It is based on the Social Innovation competency framework developed in the EU-SIDE project (ref. 101196213) and is aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing), promoting a democratic, creative, and inclusive education.

Contents and methodology

The contents address social innovation in education, wellbeing and mental health in educational contexts, the analysis of real cases, Design Thinking, graphic narratives and visual storytelling, as well as co-creation methodologies, critical reflection, and prototyping of educational resources. Participants will work on real educational situations and challenges related to student inclusion and participation.

The methodology combines online and in-person activities, with approaches based on challenge-based learning, international collaborative work, case analysis, guided reflection, participatory design, and the creation of graphic narratives. Planned activities include case analysis workshops, design of educational proposals, visual storytelling, work in international teams, prototype development, and final presentations.

Amount and application deadline

The maximum amount of the grants in this annex will be five thousand euros (€5,000). The application period opens the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León and will remain open until September 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The resolution is signed by the rector of the university, José Miguel García Pérez.

This call represents a direct opportunity for students of Teacher Training and the Teaching Master’s degree at the University of Burgos to complete their training with an international experience focused on educational innovation, inclusion, and student well-being—competencies that are increasingly demanded in current teaching practice.
