The University of Alicante appoints career civil servants through open access

The Rectorate of the University of Alicante has appointed as career civil servants of the superior scale of general administration the candidates who passed the selective tests convened through the general open access system. The decision is formalized by the Resolution of July 17, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) number 10437, of August 26, 2026, with official reference DOGV-C-2026-24563.

The appointment is made upon the proposal of the qualifying tribunal of the selective tests, after verifying that the requirements demanded in the rules of the call were met. The resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, is signed by the manager Julio Marcelo García Mora, by delegation of the rector.

Regulatory Framework and Call

The selection is part of the call approved by the Resolution of March 24, 2025 (DOGV of March 28, 2025), reference A02/25, for entry into the superior scale of general administration of the university. The rectorate acts in accordance with Article 64, letter f), of the University Statute, approved by Decree 25/2012, of February 3, of the Council of the Generalitat Valenciana.

Assumption of Office and Effects

The appointed candidates must assume office before the rector within one month, counting from the day following the publication of the resolution in the DOGV. However, the economic and administrative effects of the assumption of office are retroactive to September 1, 2026.

• Deadline for assumption of office: one month from publication.
• Economic and administrative effects: from September 1, 2026.
• Declaration of compatibility required in accordance with Royal Decree 598/1985 and Law 53/1984.
• Assumption of office diligence according to the civil servant title model of the Resolution of the Secretariat of State for Public Administration of May 29, 1985.

Appeals

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, within a period of two months, in accordance with Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the contentious-administrative jurisdiction.

The incorporation of these career civil servants reinforces the general administration staff of the University of Alicante at a time of consolidation of its personnel structure, and represents the culmination of the selection process opened in 2025 for candidates who passed via open access.
