The ULL announces seven vacancies for permanent labor professor positions I3/R3

The University of La Laguna (ULL) has announced a public competition, via the ordinary procedure, for the provision of seven positions for teaching and research staff hired under labor law in the role of Permanent Labor Professor under the I3/R3 program. The call is formalized through the Resolution of September 1, 2026, signed by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Research Staff, Alfonso Ruiz Rallo, and published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands number 183, dated September 11, 2026.

The positions, included in the Public Employment Offer of 2023 and 2024, fall within the minimum 15 percent reserve that Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System (LOSU) mandates for the incorporation of doctoral research staff who have passed the evaluation of the I3 program or who have obtained the established researcher certificate (R3). The call is also governed by Article 22 bis of Law 14/2021, on Science, Technology and Innovation, and by the Regulations for the development of competitions for access to labor teaching and research staff positions at the ULL, approved by Resolution of December 23, 2024, and modified by Resolution of July 28, 2026.

Candidate Requirements

To be admitted, applicants must meet the general requirements of the Basic Statute of Public Employees and the specific requirements of the call, accredited by the expiration date of the application submission period:

• Hold a doctoral degree, with recognized equivalence in the case of foreign degrees.
• Have a positively evaluated curricular activity by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) or by the Canarian Agency for University Quality and Educational Evaluation (ACCUEE).
• Provide the I3/R3 certificate, either by having passed the research activity incentive program or through the established researcher certificate.
• Those who do not hold Spanish nationality must prove a knowledge of Spanish at level B2 or higher.

Applications and Competition Process

Applications shall be submitted through the ULL electronic office within ten business days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands. Participation requires the payment of 15 euros as examination fees, to be deposited into the CajaSiete account indicated in the rules.

The competition consists of two tests, with a maximum total score of 10 points:

• First test, valued up to 5 points, consisting of the oral presentation and discussion of academic, teaching, and research merits and history.
• Second test, valued up to 5 points, regarding the teaching project and the research project presented by the candidate.
• A minimum of 2.5 points is required to pass each test.

Positions and Contracting

The announced positions are distributed across knowledge areas such as Art History, Sociology, Anthropology, and Drawing, with full-time dedication and an indefinite contract. The signing of contracts will take place starting October 1, 2026, and the deadline to resolve the competition may not exceed three months from the publication of the final list of admitted candidates.
