UJI announces fifteen permanent labor faculty positions

The Jaume I University of Castelló (UJI) has announced a public competition for the selection of permanent contractual faculty, with a total of fifteen positions funded in its budget expenditure state. The call is formalized through the Resolution of August 25, 2026, of the Vice-Rectorate for Personnel and Academic Planning, signed by Vice-Rector Joaquín Beltrán Arandes by delegation of the Rector, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) number 10440, of August 31, 2026, with official reference DOGV-C-2026-27601.

Regulatory Framework and Background

The competition is part of the public employment offer for teaching and research staff of the UJI for 2026, approved by Resolution of July 2, 2026, of the Rectorate and published in the DOGV on July 10, as well as the 2024 OPE (Resolution of May 21, 2024). The call is governed by Article 71 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System (LOSU), Royal Decree 678/2023, Decree 174/2002 of the Consell, the UJI Statutes (Decree 194/2025), and the Regulations for the Selection of Teaching and Research Staff (RSPDIUJI).

Positions and Profiles

The fifteen positions are distributed across different areas of knowledge, each with its own teaching and research profile and specific degree and language requirements:

  • Surgery (position 22203): profile in Diseases of the Locomotor System, Immune System, and Skin; Valencian C2.
  • Catalan Philology (22875): Oral and Written Communication in Catalan; Catalan C2.
  • Developmental and Educational Psychology (22876): Educational Psychology; Valencian C1 and Degree in Psychology.
  • Constitutional Law (22877): Valencian C2.
  • Nursing (22878, 22885, 22886, 22887, 22888): five positions in the Pre-departmental Unit of Nursing, with profiles in Human Anatomy, Women’s Care, Public Health, and others; Degree or Diploma in Nursing and Valencian C1 or C2.
  • Electrical Engineering (22879): Electrotechnics and artificial intelligence; English C1.
  • Translation and Interpreting (22880 and 22881): two positions in Translation Technologies and Legal Translation; Catalan and English C2.
  • Journalism (22882): Journalistic Genres; Valencian C1.
  • Didactics of Experimental Sciences (22883): The Natural Environment in Early Childhood Education; Degree in Biology and Valencian C1.
  • Social Psychology (22884): Work and Organizational Psychology; Degree in Psychology.

Requirements, Deadlines, and Fees

Applicants must hold a doctorate, have a positive evaluation of their university activity for the position of contracted doctor professor or permanent labor professor by ANECA or AVAP, and meet the required language requirements. The application period is twenty business days from the day following the publication in the DOGV, and it is processed electronically through the UJI Electronic Registry.

  • Examination fee: 30 euros.
  • 50% discount (15 euros) for large or single-parent families of the general category.
  • Total exemption for families of the special category, victims of gender-based violence, people with a disability equal to or greater than 33%, and those in a situation of social exclusion.

Contracts for permanent labor faculty will be of an indefinite nature and full-time, with functions of teaching, research and, where applicable, project management. The selection committees, composed of faculty from UJI and other universities, will assess merits in research, teaching, leadership, and professional activity.
