UBA tenders 719 million for the repair of ceilings at the Pellegrini

The University of Buenos Aires has called for Public Tender 013/2026 for the repair of the ceilings of the Carlos Pellegrini Higher School of Commerce, with an official budget of 719,734,420 pesos and an execution period of 360 calendar days. The opening of bids will take place on December 10, 2026, at 12:00 and the notice was published in the Third Section of the Official Gazette of the Argentine Republic on October 19, 2026, under the file reference EX-2026-04646541-UBA-DME#REC.

The call is implemented by the UBA’s General Directorate of Planning and Procurement Management under the lump-sum contracting system, meaning a closed price that the contractor assumes for the entirety of the works. The same notice had already been disseminated in the October 15, 2026 edition, with publication validity until October 28 and order number 76291/26.

A historic building on Marcelo T. de Alvear

The work will be carried out at the institution’s headquarters, at Marcelo T. de Alvear 1851, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It is one of the secondary schools dependent on the UBA, and the official notice does not detail surfaces or the number of rooms affected, as it refers to the Particular Technical Specifications of the bidding documents.

The cost of the bidding documents is 700,000 pesos and they are delivered in digital format, on a non-rewritable CD with the rubric of the General Directorate of University Construction. Sales extend until November 24, 2026 inclusive, at Viamonte 430, ground floor, office 8, with prior coordination via email.

Inquiries regarding the Particular Terms and Conditions and the Particular Technical Specifications must be submitted reliably through the University of Buenos Aires Remote Procedures platform, via the procedure “Rectorate and Superior Council Entry Desk.” Each bidder must individualize their inquiry by stating the file number EX-2026-04646541-UBA-DME#REC and declaring their email address.

The notice does not accept informal submissions: oral, telephone, or other inquiries are outside the official circuit, and those submitted after the deadline will not be answered. Meanwhile, the site visit is coordinated via email with the General Directorate of University Construction.

Other university works along the same line

The call is added to a series of large-scale building interventions that the UBA tendered during 2026 under the same lump-sum adjustment scheme. Among them are the “Restoration of Classrooms and Circulation” of the Faculty of Law, at Figueroa Alcorta 2263, with an official budget of 634,990,158 pesos, and the “Repair of Flat Roofs” of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, at Córdoba 2122, for 801,057,346 pesos and a term of 180 days.

In all three cases, the administrative circuit is identical: paid bidding documents, mandatory or coordinated site visit, inquiries via the remote procedures platform, and the opening act at the Viamonte 430 headquarters.

Impact for construction companies and the educational community

The tender opens a market of nearly 720 million pesos for construction companies capable of executing work in an operational school building for a full year, with a 90-day bid maintenance period that freezes guarantees until March 2027. For the Pellegrini community, the file sets for the first time this year a concrete deadline for a requested building intervention in a property of heritage value, although execution could only begin after the award following December 10.
