La Toba puts the vacant lot cleaning ordinance to public consultation

The La Toba City Council has submitted for public review the initial modification of the Municipal Ordinance regulating the cleaning and fencing of plots, approved by Plenary Agreement dated July 14, 2026. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 161, Monday, August 24, 2026, and opens a 30-day period for interested parties to submit allegations.

The processing is supported by articles 49 and 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Government, and article 56 of the Recast Text of Local Government. The file remains available to any interested party at the municipal offices and on the council’s web portal.

Deadline and form of participation

The 30-day period begins to count from the day following the publication of the announcement in the official gazette. During this period, residents may examine the text of the modification and submit any claims they deem appropriate.

• It may also be consulted on the municipal web portal (http://www.latoba-guadalajara.es/).
• Allegations may be submitted by any interested party throughout the entire period.

Final approval

If no claims are submitted within the aforementioned period, the agreement to modify the ordinance will be understood as definitively approved without the need for an express agreement from the Plenary. Otherwise, the council must resolve the submitted allegations before final approval.

The modification affects all plot owners in the municipality, who will be obliged to keep their land clean and properly fenced, in line with health and urban security requirements.

The announcement is signed in La Toba on August 20, 2026, by the mayor, Mr. Javier Cantero González. The document incorporates an electronic verification code (292d4d14e4617ad535bfe75bceb8cfef0318e54c) for validation on the gazette’s electronic office.

The measure represents a significant step for the municipality, as it will force plot holders to maintain them in adequate conditions, avoiding abandonment, the accumulation of waste, and associated risks, with a direct impact on the hygiene and urban image of La Toba.
