La Selva grants 27,060 euros to tourism competitiveness

The Consell Comarcal de la Selva (Selva County Council) has granted a direct nominative subsidy of 27,060 euros to the Associació de Turisme la Selva, la comarca de l’aigua, to finance the project “Promotion and support for the tourism competitiveness of the region” during the year 2026. The decision, adopted by the president of the corporation through resolution 2026PRE1172, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona number 164, dated August 26, 2026 (edict 7444, CVE BOP-2026_0_164_7444, pp. 1-5).

The amount is allocated to budget item 42.4395.48000 of the Council’s expenditure budget for the 2026 financial year, under the concept “Subsidy to the Associació de turisme la Selva”. The subsidy falls under priority 3 of the budget execution bases, dedicated to the promotion of tourism activities, and is processed as a direct subsidy in accordance with Law 38/2003, of November 17, the general law on subsidies, and its implementing regulations.

An entity uniting the public and private sectors

The Associació de Turisme la Selva is a tourism promotion entity of regional scope that brings together both the public sector (city councils and the county council itself) and the private sector (guilds and professional associations for hospitality, commerce, rural tourism, and cuisine). Since its creation, the County Council has made an annual financial contribution to the entity.

The application was submitted on May 25, 2026 (RGE no. 2026/26195), and the collaboration agreement between the Council and the Association for the tourism promotion of the region was signed on July 6, 2026. The planned budget for the action is 60,942 euros, of which the subsidy covers 44.40%.

Conditions of the grant

The subsidy is intended for expenses derived from the execution of the activities programmed during the year 2026, with specific obligations for the beneficiary entity:

• Carry out the subsidized activity before the end of the financial year and justify it no later than the first quarter of 2027.
• Present a report of the actions, a classified list of expenses, copies of invoices, and bank payment vouchers for expenses exceeding 2,500 euros.
• Notify the Council of any other subsidy received for the same purpose and submit to the financial control of the Comptroller’s Office.
• Indicate on brochures, posters, and dissemination materials that the activity is carried out with the collaboration of the Consell Comarcal.

Payment will be made prior to justification, within a maximum period of two months from approval, provided that the entity proves to be up to date with its tax and Social Security obligations. In case of non-compliance, the grant will be revoked and, if applicable, the unjustified portion will be reclaimed.

A continued commitment to tourism

The resolution is part of a steady line of support for the tourism sector of the region. In 2025, the Council had already approved a nominative grant of 41,000 euros to the same entity (resolution 2025PRE1234) to finance the promotion of the tourism resources of La Selva, and the 2026 budget again provides for the nominative allocation of this contribution.

The grant is compatible with other public or private aid, provided that the total amount received for the same purpose does not exceed the cost of the project. The subsidized activities extend from the acceptance of the agreement until December 31, 2026.

The publication of this resolution in the official bulletin guarantees the transparency of a contribution that reinforces the tourism competitiveness of a region with a strong dependence on the sector, and consolidates public support for an entity that will structure the tourism promotion of La Selva.
