The Government Chamber appoints justices of the peace in four municipalities of Toledo

The Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha has agreed upon the appointment of titular and substitute justices of the peace in four municipalities of the province of Toledo. The agreement, adopted on September 4, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo, number 175, dated September 14, 2026, with official reference No. I.- 4066.

The appointments are made by virtue of Regulation 3/1995, of June 7, published in the BOE on July 13, 1995 (Article 20), and Articles 101.2 and 101.4 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary, in compliance with the agreement of the Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary of December 1, 1995. The Governing Chamber acted as a commission in its meeting on the date mentioned.

The appointees and their destinations

The agreement designates five people for the positions of titular and substitute justice of the peace in the indicated municipalities:

• Titular Justice of the Peace of Mejorada (Toledo): Anastasio Jiménez Sánchez (D.N.I. ****2528).
• Titular Justice of the Peace of La Pueblanueva (Toledo): Miguel Ángel Palomares Sánchez (D.N.I. ****9109).
• Substitute Justice of the Peace of Guadamur (Toledo): German Alonso Quirant (D.N.I. ****7346).
• Titular Justice of the Peace of Velada (Toledo): Emilio Cabo Rayo (D.N.I. ****6115).
• Substitute Justice of the Peace of Velada (Toledo): Andrés Rodríguez Gómez (D.N.I. ****8590).

Assumption of office and term duration

The appointees must assume their office within twenty calendar days following the date of publication of their appointment in the gazette, after taking an oath or making a promise before the Court of First Instance and Instruction of the judicial district, or before the Dean if there are several. Anyone who has already taken an oath or made a promise previously for the same position shall not be required to repeat it.

The duration of the term shall be four years, computed from the date of publication of the appointment in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo.

Appeals against the agreement

An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the appointment agreement within a period of one month, counted from the day following its notification or publication, before the Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary, in accordance with the provisions of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The edict is signed in Albacete on September 4, 2026, by the Government Secretary of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha, Sigfrido Mangas Morales.

Relevance for the municipalities

Justice of the peace judges are the first judicial instance in municipalities without their own court, therefore these appointments guarantee ordinary judicial attention in Mejorada, La Pueblanueva, Guadamur, and Velada for the next four years. The coverage of titular and substitute positions ensures the continuity of service in the judicial districts of the province.
