La Sénia allocates 6,000 euros to subsidize the creation of new businesses

The La Sénia City Council has opened the call for grants to promote the creation of new businesses for the year 2026, with a budget of 6,000 euros, aimed at natural or legal persons who have registered their activity in the municipality. The deadline for submitting applications ends on November 8, 2026. The summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on October 30, 2026, with the reference CVE 2026-09993 and the code BDNS 937888.

The call derives from the specific regulatory bases initially approved by the Municipal Plenary in the ordinary session of July 20, 2026, submitted for public information for 30 business days without any claims, and definitively approved in the bulletin of September 29, 2026 (CVE 2026-08869). The procedure is processed under a non-competitive regime, meaning there is no comparative evaluation between applications: it is sufficient to meet the requirements and present the documentation.

The granting resolution corresponds to the Mayor’s Office by means of a decree, within a maximum period of six months from the end of the application period, and the lack of a resolution within this period has the effect of rejection. Payment is made once all documentation has been justified. The call is subject to Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure.

Amounts, limits and compatibilities

• Eligible amount: up to 30% of the cost of the action, with a maximum of 3,000 euros.
• Cap of 3,000 euros per establishment within a five-year period for the set of concepts.
• Proportional distribution among applications if the sum of the grants exceeds the planned budget.
• Grace period of 10 years to apply for the grant again for actions of the same concept.
• Budget line: 433.47903; total maximum announced amount: 6,000 euros.
• The grants are declared incompatible with those from other administrations or public and private entities.

What can be financed

The eligible expenses are grouped into five blocks:

• Constitution and first establishment: notary, registry, agency, and company constitution fees.
• Current expenses of the first year: rent of the premises and civil liability or activity insurance.
• Technological development and digitalization: websites, mobile applications, management software, and ERP or CRM systems.
• Marketing and promotion: advertising campaigns, promotional material, and participation in trade fairs and commercial events.
• Training and consultancy: courses for entrepreneurs or workers and business consultancy services.

VAT on the invoices presented is excluded, as well as taxes and fees that the promoter is legally obliged to settle.

How and where to submit the application

Applications are submitted through the electronic office of the Ajuntament de la Sénia. Self-employed workers may choose to do so in person at the Citizen Service Point (PAC), at passeig de la Clotada, 6, or at any of the locations provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015.

The generic application must be accompanied by:

• Bank ownership certificate or annex 1 stamped by the entity.
• Business plan according to the criteria of annex 2.
• Rental contract or document of assignment of use with the rent amount, or property deed, and a payment receipt in the name of the activity holder.
• Form 036 or form 848 of activity registration, for activities started between January 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
• Annex 3, explanatory report of the invoices, and the invoices with proof of payment.
• Annex 4, signed responsible declaration.

The call bears the signature of the mayor, Maria Victoria Almuni Balada, dated October 19, 2026. The same city council maintains another line of grants open for the renovation of commercial establishments, catering and offices, endowed with 10,000 euros (BDNS 937806).

The grant is one of the few municipal lines of direct support for entrepreneurship in a small municipality, where starting a business involves initial expenses that are difficult to assume alone. With a maximum of 3,000 euros per project and a deadline that ends in a few days, the call is of particular interest to self-employed workers and companies established during the last year and a half who wish to recover part of the initial investment in premises, digitalization, or promotion.
