La Rioja tramita el coto de caza LR-10.018 en Sajazarra

The Government of La Rioja has made public the file for the establishment of hunting ground LR-10.018 in the municipality of Sajazarra, with an area of 1,348 hectares. The announcement, signed by the Director of Natural Environment and Landscape, Ignacio Sáenz de Urturi Sánchez, is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja (Boletín Oficial de La Rioja) no. 193, dated October 7, 2026, with official reference BOR-A-20261007-V–501. The process opens a period for allegations for the affected owners and holders of hunting rights.

The request comes from the Sajazarra City Council (P2612800I), which has requested the creation of a hunting ground on lands entirely included within its municipal boundaries. The file is processed under Article 23 of Law 8/2022, of June 24, on hunting and hunting management of La Rioja, and Article 35 of its Regulations, approved by Decree 1/2026, of January 27.

The announcement is disseminated through Section V, Announcements, and corresponds to the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, with file number 202610050124790 and internal publication reference V.501. The text is made public “for general knowledge and particularly for those potentially affected.”

A hunting ground of 1,348 hectares with a 23.11% transfer

The requested area amounts to 1,348 hectares and includes lands from the Catalog of Public Utility Forests number 230 ‘Peña Gembres’. The Sajazarra City Council has accredited the transfer of hunting rights corresponding to 23.11% of the area of the requested hunting ground.

The list of plots whose hunting rights have been transferred, as well as the entity that transferred them, can be consulted on the Virtual Notice Board of the Government of La Rioja.

The boundaries of the new hunting ground

The file details the boundaries of hunting ground LR-10.018, which can also be consulted through the electronic management application for Hunting Grounds of the Government of La Rioja:

Twenty business days to submit claims

Those who consider themselves aggrieved may submit their claims in writing to the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Landscape, in Logroño, at Prado Viejo Street, 62-Bis, and to the Sajazarra City Council. The deadline is twenty business days starting from the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of La Rioja.

During this same period, the file will remain available for public inspection during office hours at the offices of the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Landscape. The announcement is dated in Logroño on September 14, 2026.

The establishment of the hunting ground LR-10.018 directly affects plot owners, holders of hunting rights, and hunters in the area, who see the hunting exploitation of 1,348 hectares transition to being managed under a single hunting entity. The twenty-business-day period is the only formal window to challenge boundaries or assignments before the file continues its administrative course.
