La Rioja provisionally selects 681 vineyard aid operations

The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Affairs and Environment of the Government of La Rioja has published the provisional list of selected applications from the 2026 public call for aid for vineyard restructuring and reconversion, for operations completed in the EAGF 2027 year. Of the 730 applications submitted, 681 have been provisionally selected and 49 rejected, and a period of ten days is opened to submit objections. The announcement, signed on 10 August in Logroño, appears in the Official Gazette of La Rioja No. 154, of 13 August 2026, with reference III.3183 and secure verification code BOR-A-20260813-III–3183.

The call was approved by Resolution 209/2026, of 3 February, of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Affairs and Environment, and is governed by the regulatory bases of Order ATP/2/2023, of 14 January, of the then Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Affairs, Territory and Population. The aid falls within the Sectoral Intervention of the Spanish Wine Sector (ISV) 2024-2027, the instrument with which the Autonomous Community finances the reconversion and modernisation of its vineyards with funding from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund.

The provisional list, 30 pages long, is signed by the head of the Vineyard Aid Programmes Section, Vicente Carlos Inarejos García, in Logroño, on 10 August 2026.

Call figures: 681 selected and 49 rejected

After verifying the requirements and reviewing the documentation of the 730 applications submitted, the managing body proposes:

• The provisional selection of 681 operations, with their holders and order of priority according to the criteria of the regulatory order and their weighting in the call resolution; the list appears in Annex Ia (alphabetical order) and Annex Ib (score order).
• The rejection of 49 operations, listed in Annex II with their holders and reasons.

Among the grounds for exclusion in Annex II, withdrawn applications and waivers by the interested parties themselves predominate, such as those of Bodegas Carlos Serres SL, Bodegas Máximo SL or Bodegas Monastir SL, and there is at least one rejection for non-compliance with article 8.10 of Order ATP/2/2023. The prioritisation assesses four blocks of criteria: type of farmer (professional farmer, priority holding, shared ownership, young farmer, others), farmer characteristics, main objective and other scoreable characteristics.

Ten days to submit objections electronically

A period of ten days is opened, counted from the day following publication in the Official Gazette of La Rioja, to submit objections against the list of non-admitted operations or against the order of the provisional list. Objections must be submitted electronically, in accordance with article 14.2 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations:

• Through the PRV application, accessed by the representative of the collective application on the website www.larioja.org/prvi.
• Or through the Electronic Office of the website of the Government of La Rioja (www.larioja.org).

Impact on the Rioja wine sector

The restructuring and reconversion of vineyards is the main lever of La Rioja’s wine policy to adapt vineyards to new market and climate demands, and the 2026 call concentrates practically all operations planned for the EAGF 2027 year. That 681 operations have passed the first screening anticipates an intense execution of investments in the coming months, while the holders of the 49 excluded ones have these ten days to rectify their situation before the final resolution.
