La Rioja tenders the forestry use of 1,700 cubic meters of timber

The Autonomous Community of La Rioja has published in its official gazette the announcement of an open tender to award a lot for forest timber harvesting in the Riojan area of La Tejera. The notice, processed by the Directorate General for Natural Environment and Landscape under file number 0959/2026, seeks to award the extraction of 1,700.20 cubic meters of timber of the species Pinus nigra.

The tender is part of the autonomous community’s public forest management and responds to the need to exploit timber resources in an orderly and sustainable manner. The lot, identified with code 03104 ‘La Tejera’, is located in a forest area whose production is intended for this type of concession.

Purpose and characteristics of the lot

The purpose of the contract is the award of lot 0959/2026, which includes the forest exploitation of a specific area of woodland.

• Submission method: Economic bid in a sealed envelope, which must be deposited at the Registries of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja.
• Required documentation: Only the economic bid; no specific professional classification of the contractor or prior guarantees are required.

The opening of bids will take place seven calendar days after the end of the submission period, at 12:00 noon, at the headquarters of the Directorate General for Natural Environment and Landscape (Prado Viejo 62 bis, Logroño).

Award criteria and responsible body

The criterion for awarding the contract is unique and consists of the highest price offered by bidders. This system seeks to maximize revenue for the public administration from the sale of the forest resource.

The contracting authority is the Dirección General de Medio Natural y Paisaje (General Directorate for Natural Environment and Landscape), under the Consejería de Agricultura, Ganadería, Mundo Rural y Medio Ambiente (Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Affairs and Environment). The management of the file is the responsibility of the Servicio de Gestión Forestal (Forest Management Service).
