La Rioja finances gambling addiction prevention through Proyecto Hombre

The Government of La Rioja will allocate 8,000 euros to the Fundación Centro Solidaridad de La Rioja - Proyecto Hombre La Rioja to finance the prevention of problematic and pathological gambling and awareness regarding gambling addiction during 2026. The measure is formalized through an agreement published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja (Boletín Oficial de La Rioja) no. 199, dated October 15, 2026, by Resolution 1538/2026, dated September 30, of the Technical General Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance, Public Governance, Digital Society and Government Spokesperson. The agreement appears in section III, Other Provisions and Acts, with the official reference BOR-A-20261015-III–3883.

Regulatory framework and official publication

The publication of the summary of the agreement is arranged in accordance with article 10 of Decree 13/2017, of April 12, which regulates the Electronic Registry of Agreements of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja. Signatories and object of the agreement

The agreement was signed on September 2, 2026, by three parties:

• David García de la Cal, director of the Fundación Centro de Solidaridad de La Rioja.

The object is to establish the framework for collaboration between the Autonomous Community of La Rioja and the entity to promote the health and social work that the association develops in the field of prevention, information, and awareness regarding gambling addiction in La Rioja.

Funded interventions and validity

The funding covers the expenses incurred by preventive interventions related to potentially addictive behaviors, including:

• Video games.
• Abusive use of social networks.
• Pathological gambling.

The agreement also supports the adoption of attitudes oriented toward a healthy lifestyle and other information tasks provided for in the fifth clause of the agreement. The only financial obligation recorded corresponds to the Government of La Rioja, amounting to 8,000 euros.

Regarding its validity, the agreement, as the regulatory basis for the grant, entered into force on January 1, 2026, and will end on December 31, 2026.
