La Rioja allocates 80,000 euros to Wineries for ABC Quality

The Government of La Rioja will provide 80,000 euros to the Asociación Bodegas por la Calidad ABC to cover its representation, dissemination, and defense activities for the interests of its members during 2026. The agreement was signed on May 28, 2026, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja no. 195, dated October 9, 2026, within section III of other provisions and acts, with the official reference BOR-A-20261009-III–3809.

The publication is ordered by Resolution 1552/2026, dated October 1, from the Technical General Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance, Public Governance, Digital Society and Government Spokesperson, issued under article 10 of Decree 13/2017, of April 12, which regulates the Electronic Registry of Agreements of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja. Who signs and who pays

The agreement is signed by two parties:

• Government of La Rioja, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, represented by the minister Noemí Manzanos Martínez.
• The second signing party appears in the official summary as Asociación Sub/Sierra debajo de la Sierra, represented by its president, Juan Díez del Corral Ugarte.

Regarding financial obligations, the published summary assigns the Government of La Rioja a contribution of 80,000 euros, intended to cover part of the current and operating expenses assumed by the association.

Purpose of the funds

The purpose of the agreement is for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment to financially support the activities carried out by the Asociación de Bodegas por la Calidad ABC. According to the published text, the contribution covers expenses derived, among others, from:

• Representation activities and the defense of the interests of members before the institutions of the designation of origin.
• Actions before sectoral associations and different public administrations.

Validity and eligible period

The agreement takes effect from its signing and is valid between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. However, the second clause allows actions carried out between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, both inclusive, to be eligible for subsidies, which extends the economic coverage to actions prior to the signing of the agreement itself.

The publication resolution is dated in Logroño on October 1, 2026, and signed by the Head of the Government Secretariat and Parliamentary Relations Service of the Ministry of Finance, Public Governance, Digital Society, and Government Spokesperson, Begoña Sáinz Martínez, by delegation of Resolution 894/2023, of July 20, from the Technical General Secretariat.

Impact for the sector

The aid represents direct financial support from the regional Executive to a wine-growing association that acts as a liaison with the designation of origin institutions and public administrations. With 80,000 euros of public funds allocated to operating expenses and the promotion of the sector’s image, the agreement strengthens the representation capacity of the associated wineries for a full year, from January to December 2026, and remains accessible for public scrutiny through the Electronic Registry of Agreements of La Rioja.
