La Rioja announces nine 3,000 euro awards for excellent university graduates

The Department of Education and Employment of the Government of La Rioja has announced the Academic Excellence Awards intended for university graduates of the 2024/2025 academic year. The call is formalized through Resolution 76/2026, dated September 15, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja (BOR) no. 186, dated September 28, 2026. A total of 27,000 euros will be distributed across nine awards of 3,000 euros each.

The measure is supported by Order EDE/39/2024, dated May 31, which establishes the regulatory bases for granting these awards to university graduates. The summary is disseminated in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, dated November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS), under code 929600. The resolution is signed in Logroño on September 15, 2026, by the Minister of Education and Employment, Alberto Galiana García.

Nine awards for academic performance

The call aims to recognize those who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement in their university Undergraduate studies. The economic and scope data are as follows:

• Number of awards: nine.
• Maximum amount per award: 3,000 euros.
• Total amount of the subsidy: 27,000 euros.
• Reference academic year: 2024/2025.
• Granting criteria: those provided for in article 11 of Order EDE/39/2024, dated May 31.
• Payment procedure: in accordance with article 14 of the same order.

Who can apply

All university graduates who have completed their official face-to-face Undergraduate studies at a Spanish center or university during the 2024/2025 academic year may apply. Without prejudice to the provisions of the first additional provision of Order EDE/39/2024, dated May 31, the call refers to the fulfillment of the requirements established in section 2 of the call resolution.

Twenty-business-day deadline and electronic processing

The deadline for submitting applications is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of La Rioja. Applications must be submitted electronically and duly signed, using the telematics form enabled by the Government of La Rioja. The required documentation is that provided for in section 6 of the call resolution.

The call for applications comes at a key moment for recent graduates from La Rioja, who have approximately one calendar month to gather the documentation and formalize their candidacy. The nine awards recognize the effort of the best academic records from Spanish universities and centers and represent direct financial support for the beginning of the professional or research career of the 2024/2025 graduates.
