La Rioja announces product design scholarships with 100,000 euros

The Economic Development Agency of La Rioja (ADER) has approved the call to establish a pool of training grants for internships in product design, with an available credit of 100,000 euros. The resolution, signed on September 10, 2026, by manager Luis Pérez Echeguren, is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja number 176, dated September 14, 2026, within section III (Other provisions and acts), with official reference BOR-A-20260914-III–3496.

The initiative, framed within the program “Attraction, retention and promotion of talent in La Rioja,” aims for the training of professionals specialized in product design. In parallel, the call will select a pool of host companies interested in incorporating an intern, so that the training takes place in a real business environment.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates must meet all requirements at the time the application period ends and until the grant is awarded:

• To have been born in 1996 or later (under 30 years old).
• To be unemployed, registered as a job seeker, and a beneficiary of the National Youth Guarantee System.
• To hold Spanish nationality, nationality of an EU Member State, or legal residence in Spain.
• To hold an official university degree, higher-level vocational training (FP), or a degree in higher artistic design teachings, admitting degrees in product design, product engineering, or architecture.
• To be registered as a resident (empadronado) in the Autonomous Community of La Rioja at the time of the call’s publication.
• To have not been a beneficiary of grants or aid for the same purpose and not to fall under the prohibitions of article 13 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003.

Submission of Applications and Deadline

Applications shall be submitted exclusively electronically through the ADER Electronic Office (“Product Design Grants” section), with a digital signature, accompanied by the documentation indicated in the call. The period opens on the day of the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of La Rioja at 9:00 AM and ends on October 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The mandatory electronic processing is supported by Order 1/2017 of the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation.

Regulatory Framework and Procedure

The regulatory bases for the grant are Order EIE/52/2025, of September 17, published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja number 182, of September 19, 2025. The granting of scholarships will be carried out on a competitive basis, in accordance with the selection process established in the call.
