La Rioja approves the competitive examination file for secondary school teachers.

The Department of Education and Employment of the Government of La Rioja has approved the file for the selective procedure for secondary education teachers, called in February 2025, and will forward to the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports the list of candidates who passed the probationary phase for their appointment as career civil servants. This is stated in Resolution 56/2025, of 10 July, of the Department of Education and Employment, published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja No. 155, of 14 August 2026.

The procedure was convened by Resolution 3/2025, of 7 February, of the Department of Education and Employment, for entry and access to the bodies of secondary education teachers and of specialist teachers in the specific sectors of vocational training, as well as for the acquisition of new specialties by civil servants of those bodies. On 29 June 2026, the evaluation committee for the probationary phase forwarded to the General Directorate of Educational Management the list of participating civil servants, with the grade obtained, which has made it possible to close the file in accordance with rule 13 of the call.

Two decisions to close the process

The resolution, signed in Logroño on 10 July 2026 by the Regional Minister Alberto Galiana García, adopts two decisions:

• Approve the file of the selective procedures for entry and access to the bodies of secondary education teachers and of specialist teachers in the specific sectors of vocational training, and of the procedure for the acquisition of new specialties.
• Send to the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports the list of candidates who passed the process, detailed in the annex, for the purpose of issuing the corresponding career civil servant titles.

Until the appointment takes place, the affected teachers will retain the legal-administrative status of probationary civil servants, provided that they were performing a teaching post.

Appeal deadlines

The resolution exhausts the administrative route, so the following are available in response to it:

• Optional appeal for reconsideration before the Minister of Education and Employment, within one month.
• Contentious-administrative appeal before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of La Rioja, within two months.

Both deadlines are counted from the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of La Rioja, in accordance with Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, and Law 29/1998, of 13 July, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.

Renewal of the teaching staff

With this approval, the Riojan Government clears the way to consolidate as career civil servants almost two hundred teachers who have already completed the probationary period, which will reinforce the stability of teaching staff at the secondary schools of La Rioja for the upcoming academic year. The publication of the file, with the secure verification code BOR-A-20260814-III–3213, provides legal certainty to applicants and allows the Ministry to process the definitive certifications that will renew the teaching staff of the community.
