La Ràpita announces two vacancies for Local Police sergeant

The Local Governing Board of the Ràpita City Council, in its session on August 13, 2026, approved the rules and the call to fill, through internal promotion, two positions of sergeant of the Local Police. The process, by competitive examination (concurs-oposició), is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on August 20, 2026, with the official reference CVE 2026-07885.

The positions, under the civil servant regime, are part of the public employment offer for the year 2026 and correspond to subgroup C1, in the special administration scale, special services sub-scale. The annual specific supplement is 29,260.00 euros and the destination supplement level is 21. The document, electronically signed by Elena Queral Castellà, fully transcribes the regulatory bases of the process.

Requirements and submission of applications

To participate, applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:

Hold Spanish citizenship and a minimum seniority of two years as a career civil servant in the category of corporal of the Ràpita Local Police.
Be in active service, special services, or services in other administrations.
Possess a high school diploma (batxillerat), technical degree or equivalent, and driving licenses of classes B and A2.
Have no criminal record and not be disqualified from public occupations or positions.

Applications shall be submitted to the municipal electronic office or to the City Council’s Entry Registry (plaça de Carles III, 13), within a period of twenty business days counted from the last publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya or the Official State Gazette. The registration fee is 20.00 euros.

Competition phase and examination phase

The system combines a competition phase, where merits such as professional experience, training, qualifications, and knowledge of the Catalan language are valued, with an examination phase consisting of four eliminatory exercises:

A psychotechnical test of aptitudes, personality, and competencies.
A theoretical questionnaire of 50 questions, with a maximum of one hour.
A practical exercise in case resolution, in a maximum of 90 minutes.
A test of knowledge of the Catalan language.

The maximum score for the competition phase is 12.65 points. Applicants who pass the tests must complete the specific selective course for access to the category of sergeant organized by the Public Security Institute of Catalonia.

Selection and Appointment Body

The selection body will be collegiate and will adhere to the principles of impartiality and professionalism, consisting of one third of civil servants from the same corporation, one third of specialized technical personnel, and one third proposed by the Department of Interior and Public Security. Candidates who pass all phases will be proposed to the mayor’s office for their appointment as trainee civil servants and, following the selective course, as career civil servants.

The call opens an opportunity for internal promotion for the corps’ corporals, who can access a command category with a specific annual supplement of nearly 30,000 euros. The process, which will take place over the coming months, reinforces the renewal of the middle management of the municipality’s Local Police.
