La Paz tenders the supply of primary hip prostheses

The Management of the “La Paz” University Hospital has called for the supply contract for primary hip prostheses for the center, through the Resolution of September 1, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 216, dated September 10, 2026. The file, identified as P. A. 2026-0-32 (A. M.), is processed by the hospital’s Administrative Contracting Service and is part of the region’s healthcare procurement.

The contract, a supply type, has an estimated value of 2,686,197.82 euros and a base tender budget of 703,528.00 euros (net amount of 639,570.91 euros plus 63,957.09 euros VAT). The execution period is 12 months, with an allowed extension up to a maximum of 48 months, and a framework agreement is established. The announcement was sent to the Official Journal of the European Union on September 1, 2026.

Object and contract lots

The object is the supply of primary hip prostheses for the “La Paz” University Hospital, located at Paseo de la Castellana, 261, Madrid. The contract is divided into five lots, according to the type of prosthesis:

Lot 1-1: cemented bipolar primary partial hip prosthesis.
Lot 2-2: non-cemented primary total hip prosthesis with long-duration ceramic-ceramic friction pair.
Lot 3-3: non-cemented primary total hip prosthesis with ceramic/ceramized metal-polyethylene friction pair.
Lot 3-4: non-cemented primary total hip prosthesis with metal-polyethylene friction pair.
Lot 4-5: cemented primary total hip prosthesis.

The contract is classified with code CPV 33184100-4 and does not include innovative public procurement or electronic auction.

Processing and submission of bids

The processing is ordinary and the procedure is open, with mandatory electronic bidding. No provisional guarantee or contractor classification is required, and variants are not permitted. Economic, financial, and technical solvency will be assessed according to the Particular Administrative Clauses Specifications.

Deadline for obtaining documentation and information: October 2, 2026.
Deadline for submission of bids: October 2, 2026, until 6:00 PM.
Modality: electronic submission through the hospital’s public procurement platform.
Bid maintenance period: two months from the opening of the economic proposals.

The opening of the economic proposals will take place on October 21, 2026, in the Boardroom on the second floor of IdiPAZ, as a non-public event. Advertising costs, estimated at a maximum of 3,000 euros, will be borne by the successful contractor in proportion to their award.

Relevance for healthcare

The tender guarantees the supply of primary hip prostheses for one of the main hospitals in the Community of Madrid, an essential material for traumatology and orthopedic surgery services. The division into lots allows for the participation of different manufacturers and coverage of various surgical techniques, from cemented prostheses to long-term cementless friction systems.
