Por FactBox Admin

The Directorate General for Industry, Energy and Mining of the Junta de Extremadura has submitted for public consultation the request for prior administrative authorization and the specific recognition of public utility of the 45 kV high-voltage overhead line (LAAT) from Guareña. The procedure is published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Badajoz number 153, of August 12, 2026, through Notice 3089/2026, and opens a period of 30 business days for interested parties to submit allegations.
The project, promoted by the distribution company Hijos de Jacinto Guillen Distribuidora Eléctrica, SL, with registered office at the La Alberca de Guareña industrial estate, consists of changing the connection point to the Guareña substation from the Guadiana II high-voltage overhead line, in order to improve the quality of the electricity supply. It is processed under file 06AT-01618-18600 under Title IX of Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, and under Title VII, Chapter II, of Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, which regulates the activities of transmission, distribution, commercialization and supply of electrical energy.
Project installations
The action includes a line of about 540 metres and its auxiliary elements:
- 540 linear metres of three-phase aluminium-steel (Al-ac) line of 181.6 mm², including stringing, tensioning, regulating and clipping.
- 5 galvanized metal supports.
- 1 sectioning device consisting of 3 single-pole disconnectors rated at 52 kV and 1,250 A.
Due to its characteristics, the project must be subject to a simplified environmental impact assessment, as stated in the notice itself.
Land occupation and expropriation
The declaration of public utility shall imply the need to occupy the assets or acquire the affected rights and shall entail urgent occupation for the purposes of article 52 of the Compulsory Expropriation Act. It affects assets and rights of private and public ownership in the municipal district of Guareña, and the notice publishes the specific and individualized list of affected owners in its Annex I:
- Sinforiano León Gómez: rainfed olive grove, polygon 43, plot 10 (3 supports and 1,457.00 m² of aerial easement).
- Eladio Bote Cortés: fig trees, polygon 43, plot 9 (651.00 m² of easement).
- Eularia Martín García: rainfed olive grove, polygon 43, plot 8 (852.50 m²) and polygon 508, plot 71 (2,092.50 m²).
- Francisco José Quintero Barrero: rainfed cropland, polygon 508, plot 66 (2,743.50 m²).
Allegation period and consultation
The project documentation may be examined for 30 business days, counted from the day following the publication of the notice:
- In the offices of the Industrial, Energy and Mining Planning Service, at Avenida Miguel Fabra, 4 (industrial estate “El Nevero”), in Badajoz, by appointment at telephone 924012100 or at the email address soiemba@juntaex.es.
- On the website industriaextremadura.juntaex.es, section “información pública”.
During this period, interested parties may submit the allegations they deem appropriate, addressed to the competent body to resolve the procedure and deliverable at any of the registries provided for in article 16 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure. In accordance with Decree 221/2012, of 9 November, the resolution will correspond to the Industrial, Energy and Mining Planning Service; the notice is signed by its head, Juan Francisco Lemus Prieto.
The news directly affects owners of olive groves and fig trees in Guareña whose plots fall under the easement of the new line, since the declaration of public utility enables urgent occupation and, where applicable, expropriation of the affected land. At the same time, the infrastructure seeks to reinforce the quality of the electricity supply of the town, a benefit that extends to all residents and businesses in the region.
