The Board appoints a chief veterinarian for Animal Health in Valladolid

The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment, and Environmental Policy of the Regional Government of Castilla y León has resolved the public call to fill, through the system of free appointment, the head of the Animal Health Service of Valladolid. The position, level 28, has been awarded to the veterinarian Alejandro Fisac de Frías, according to Order AGR/853/2026, of August 31, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 172, of September 4, 2026.
The position, with Job Position Relationship (RPT) code 15340, is assigned to the Directorate General for Agricultural and Livestock Production. The appointment occurs following the public call announced by Order AGR/696/2026, of July 16, published in BOCYL number 146, of July 30, and is formalized using the powers conferred by article 26.1.g) of Law 3/2001, of July 3, of the Government and Administration of the Community, and in accordance with articles 48.2.b and 51 of Law 7/2005, of May 24, of the Civil Service of Castilla y León.

The governing body to which the position is assigned issued a favorable proposal report, and the Regional Ministry has considered the candidate to be the most suitable among those who applied for the position to efficiently carry out the functions inherent to the called position. Deadlines for cessation and taking office
The Order establishes that the cessation from the position the official had been performing will take place within three business days following the publication in the BOCYL, and the taking of office of the new destination will occur on the business day following the cessation. If on that date the official were enjoying a leave or license, the taking of office will be delayed until the day after its conclusion, and the intermediate period will be considered active service in the new position, on a paid basis.
Appeals against the resolution
Order AGR/853/2026, which exhausts administrative remedies, may be appealed through contentious-administrative proceedings before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Valladolid within two months of its publication, in accordance with articles 8.2 and 14.2 of Law 29/1998, of July 13. Prior to this, and as an optional measure, a motion for reconsideration may be filed before the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment, and Environmental Policy within one month, pursuant to articles 123 et seq. of Law 39/2015, of October 1. The Order is signed by the councilor Joaquín Antonio Pino.
The filling of this leadership position reinforces the community’s livestock health management structure, a key area for the prevention and control of animal diseases and for the competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Castilla y León, one of Spain’s main livestock powers.
