Por FactBox Admin

La Junta nombra a Ana Isabel González directora de los Servicios Jurídicos

The Governing Council of the Regional Government of Castilla y León agreed on October 15, 2026, to the dismissal of María García Fonseca as director of the Legal Services of the Ministry of the Presidency and the appointment of Ana Isabel González Rodríguez to that same position. The two agreements, 146/2026 and 147/2026, are published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) number 201, corresponding to Friday, October 16, 2026, on pages 8 and 9. The handover occurs at the request of the outgoing official herself, according to the official text.

Both texts are based on article 16.l) of Law 3/2001, of July 3, on the Government and Administration of the Community of Castilla y León, and were adopted upon the proposal of the Minister of the Presidency, Luis Miguel González Gago, following deliberation by the Governing Council at its meeting on October 15, 2026. Both are signed in Valladolid on October 15, 2026, by the President of the Regional Government, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and by the Minister of the Presidency himself. The publication is located in section I of the gazette, dedicated to the Community of Castilla y León, and within it in section B.1, regarding appointments, statuses, and incidents.

A dismissal at own request

Agreement 146/2026, of October 15, provides for the dismissal of María García Fonseca as director of the Legal Services of the Ministry of the Presidency. The text specifies that the dismissal occurs “at own request” and adds the express gratitude of the Regional Government for the services rendered. The resolution occupies page 8 of BOCYL number 201 and bears the official reference BOCYL-D-16102026-201-1.

It is, therefore, a voluntary departure and not a removal from office, a nuance that the agreement itself emphasizes by incorporating the formula of institutional gratitude. The document does not detail the personal or professional reasons that led the official to request the handover.

The appointment of the new official

Agreement 147/2026, of the same date, appoints Ana Isabel González Rodríguez as director of the Legal Services of the Ministry of the Presidency. The agreement is published on page 9 of the same issue of the gazette, with the official reference BOCYL-D-16102026-201-2.

The official text is limited to formalizing the appointment and does not include additional data regarding the professional trajectory of the new official nor the date of taking office. The dismissal and the appointment were resolved in the same meeting of the Governing Council, so that the position does not remain vacant between the two resolutions.

How it is processed and where it is published

The two agreements share the same procedure and the same legal basis, and are published consecutively in the gazette. The formal data collected in both documents are as follows:

  • Deciding body: Governing Council of the Junta de Castilla y León, in its meeting of October 15, 2026.
  • Proposed by: Counselor of the Presidency, Luis Miguel González Gago.
  • Legal basis: article 16.l) of Law 3/2001, of July 3, on the Government and Administration of the Community of Castilla y León.
  • Signatories: Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, President of the Junta, and Luis Miguel González Gago, Counselor of the Presidency.
  • Publication: Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 201, of October 16, 2026, section I.B.1, pages 8 and 9.
  • Official references: BOCYL-D-16102026-201-1 (termination) and BOCYL-D-16102026-201-2 (appointment).

Impact

The change affects the leadership of the Legal Services of the Counselorship of the Presidency, the body that provides legal advice within the department that coordinates the action of the regional Government. The coincidence of the voluntary termination and the appointment in the same session of the Governing Council, furthermore published in the same issue of the gazette, ensures the continuity of the service without interim periods. For readers following the activity of the Junta, the relevant fact is that the legal leadership of the Presidency changes heads well into the political term, and the published agreement does not state the reasons for the departure.
