The Board sets the non-working days of 2027 for administrative deadlines

The Department of Deregulation, Family and Social Aid of the Regional Government of Castilla y León has established the calendar of non-working days that will govern the calculation of administrative deadlines in the Community during 2027. The regulation, Order DES/933/2026, of September 18, is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 186, corresponding to Thursday, September 24, 2026. The calendar will come into force on January 1, 2027, and also applies to the entities that make up the Local Administration.

The order is issued under article 30.7 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, which requires autonomous communities to establish, within their own scope and subject to the official labor calendar, the non-working days for the purpose of calculating deadlines. This competence is exercised in accordance with article 3 of Decree 289/2001, of December 13, and article 8.d) of Decree 13/2026, of June 29, which establishes the organic structure of the department, and in coordination with Decree 7/2026, of March 26, which approves the labor holidays of 2027 in Castilla y León.

The text, signed in Valladolid on September 18, 2026, by the regional minister Carlos Pollán Fernández, extends its application to the local entities of the Community, thereby unifying the calculation of deadlines for citizens, companies, and administrations in all their procedures.

Twelve non-working labor holidays throughout the Community

During 2027, Saturdays, Sundays, and the following labor holidays included in Decree 7/2026, of March 26, will be non-working days throughout the entire territorial scope of Castilla y León:

• January 1, New Year’s Day.
• January 6, Epiphany of the Lord.
• March 25, Maundy Thursday.
• March 26, Good Friday.
• April 23, Autonomous Community Day.
• May 1, Labor Day.
• August 15, Assumption of the Virgin, which is moved to Monday.
• October 12, National Day of Spain.
• November 1, All Saints’ Day.
• December 6, Constitution Day of Spain.
• December 8, Immaculate Conception.
• December 25, Nativity of the Lord.

Local holidays and calculation of deadlines

The calendar also incorporates, as non-working days for the purpose of calculating deadlines, the holidays of the local entities where the interested party resides. These days must have been agreed upon by the competent labor authority and published, or pending publication, in the official gazettes of the various provinces.

In this way, the calculation of an administrative deadline is not interrupted only by the twelve regional holidays and weekends, but also by the local holidays of each municipality, which requires verifying the provincial calendar corresponding to the interested party’s address.

Dissemination and entry into force

To ensure maximum dissemination and awareness, the order will be published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León and on the Electronic Office of the Administration of the Community of Castilla y León (https://tramitacastillayleon.jcyl.es), without prejudice to any public display that local entities may also carry out.

The text will take effect on January 1, 2027, and will therefore be the applicable calendar for procedures and formalities initiated as of that date.

The calendar directly affects the administrative activity of the Community: any application, appeal, allegation, or correction submitted by citizens and companies will be calculated by discounting these non-working days, meaning that deadlines are extended in practice. Knowing the dates in advance prevents a procedure from being considered submitted out of time and allows for the secure planning of relations with the regional and local Administration.
