The Electoral Board publishes the premises provided for the November electoral campaign
Por FactBox Admin

The Santander Zonal Electoral Board has published the list of official premises and public spaces that city councils are making available to parties for campaign events for the general elections on November 29, 2026. The list is signed by the body’s secretary, Ana del Mar Íñiguez Martínez, in Santander on October 16, and is disseminated in the extraordinary Official Gazette of Cantabria no. 27 of this Wednesday, October 21, with the official reference CVE-2026-8220. The nine-page document organizes the spaces provided free of charge by municipality, including schedules, capacities, and specific restrictions.
The provision of these spaces responds to the legal mandate to facilitate official premises and public places for candidates during the campaign period; thus, the Santander Zonal Electoral Board certifies what each council has offered and publishes it for general knowledge. The text opens with the formula “Makes known” and closes with the signature of the secretary, who issues it “for the purpose of its knowledge and its publication in the BOC.” The list covers 28 municipalities, from the capital and its metropolitan area to the valleys of Toranzo, Pas, and Cayón, and includes assembly halls and cultural centers as well as squares, parks, sports centers, and parking lots.
Santander: seven assembly halls, one for each day
The Santander City Council provides seven assembly halls in public schools, all from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with one day assigned to each space:
- Antonio Mendoza Public School: hall with stage and 168 seats, Mondays.
- José Arce Bodega Public School: 100 chairs, Tuesdays.
- Eloy Villanueva Public School: 125 square meters on the ground floor, Wednesdays.
- Sardinero Public School: 190 square meters, Thursdays.
- Ramón Pelayo Public School: 173 seats, Thursdays.
- Dionisio García Barredo Public School: 104 square meters, Fridays.
- María Sanz de Sautuola Public School: 90 chairs, Fridays.
On Thursdays and Fridays, two spaces are available per day, while on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the offer is reduced to a single hall.
Astillero and Camargo: fixed schedules and prior reservations
In Astillero, four spaces are enabled with very different calendars: the Mª Ángeles Eguiguren Reading Room, in the “La Fondona” Culture House (Fernández Hontoria Street 1), Fridays from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM; the Guarnizo Culture Classroom (Ramón y Cajal Street 66), Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with no availability on Friday, November 13 until 8:00 PM; the Leonardo Torres Quevedo Civic Center (room 2), Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM; and the Fermín Molino Space, in the Market Square, every day from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM but only between Friday, November 20 and Friday, November 27, as an exhibition is scheduled prior to that.
Camargo is the municipality with the widest offer: ten official venues and three public spaces. The venues are the Juan de Herrera Cultural Center in Maliaño, the Pedro Velarde and Matilde de la Torre schools in Muriedas, Agapito Cagigas in Revilla and Mateo Escagedo in Cacicedo, the cultural centers «El Castillo» in Escobedo, «La Canaliza» in Igollo, and «El Torreón» in Herrera, and «La Vidriera» Conference Room in Maliaño. The schedule is from 17:00 to 23:00 on business days and from 11:00 to 23:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. La Vidriera is reserved on November 24 and 25 from 19:30 for the information session for members of the polling stations. In the public spaces section are the Plaza de la Constitución and the Lorenzo Cagigas Park, every day from 11:00 to 23:00, and the Plaza Alcalde Fombellida, during the same hours except Tuesdays.
From the metropolitan area to the valleys: squares, schools, and sports centers
The rest of the region repeats the pattern of granting social centers, former schools, and squares:
- Santa María de Cayón details capacities: «La Alameda» field in Santa María admits 2,000 people; San Antonio Square in La Penilla, 1,500; the covered market and «El Ferial» track in Sarón, the Esles track and the Plaza de las Escuelas in Lloreda, 1,000 each; the municipal sports center, 700; and the Argomilla park, 500.
- Piélagos enables eight venues in Renedo, Arce, Liencres, Oruña, Vioño, Parbayón, Bóo, and Mortera, all from 20:30 hours.
- Marina de Cudeyo offers eight cultural centers, Monday to Friday from 20:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 21:00.
- Entrambasaguas limits the use of the former schools of Navajeda, Hoznayo, and Hornedo from Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00, with Thursday, November 26, as the final day.
- Villaescusa makes available venues in Liaño, Obregón, Villanueva, La Concha, and Riosapero every day of the campaign, from 19:00 to 22:30.
The list is completed by municipalities such as Castañeda, Corvera de Toranzo, Liérganes, Luena, Medio Cudeyo, Miera, Penagos, Puente Viesgo, Ribamontán al Mar, Ribamontán al Monte, Riotuerto, San Pedro del Romeral, San Roque de Riomiera, Santa Cruz de Bezana, Santiurde de Toranzo, Saro, Selaya, Vega de Pas, Villacarriedo, and Villafufre, with schedules ranging from 09:00 to 24:00 depending on the case.
The calendar affects the daily life of the residents: during the campaign weeks, schools, cultural centers, squares, and public parking lots will be occupied by party events during afternoon and evening hours, and some spaces, such as the Fermín Molino in Astillero or the La Vidriera room, will only be free on specific dates. For the city councils, it also means coordinating the free granting of space with already scheduled activities, which the document mandates must be respected.
