La Junta Electoral de Cádiz reserva espacios para la campaña electoral

The Zonal Electoral Board of Cádiz has reserved premises, public squares, panels, and lampposts for the electoral campaign of the General Elections on November 29, 2026. The agreement, certified by the secretary Gloria de Labra Castaños, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 200, dated October 16, 2026, under reference No. 354,257.

The edict makes available to the Electoral Board the sites for the free placement of posters and banners during the campaign, scheduled from November 13 to 27, 2026, as well as the premises and squares for public propaganda events. The resolution is issued under article 57 of the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime, and is based on reports from the delegations of Public Roads and Lighting, Urban Maintenance and Education, and the Local Police Headquarters.

The applicable regulations include Law 1/1986, of January 2, Electoral Law of Andalusia; Decree 344/2011, of November 22, on the conditions of premises and material elements in the elections to the Parliament of Andalusia; Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure; Royal Decree 1372/1986, which approves the Regulations on Assets of Local Entities, and Law 33/2003, on the Heritage of Public Administrations.

Panels for posters and banners on lampposts

Three locations are reserved, each with two panels, approximately 2x1 meters in size:

  • Santa Rosalía Street, opposite number 4: 2 panels.
  • Francisco García de Sola Street, number 20: 2 panels.
  • Lacave Avenue, at the intersection with Marconi Avenue: 2 panels.

For banners on lampposts, the following are enabled, among others: Cayetano del Toro Avenue, Ana de Viya Avenue, and Andalucía Avenue, with 107 poles; Bahía Avenue, with 58; Cortes de Cádiz Avenue, with 52; Ilustración Avenue, with 16; Ramón Franco Street, with 7; and Ronda de Vigilancia, with 7 and 35 poles in two sections. Periodista Beatriz Cienfuegos Avenue is excluded, with 30 poles reserved for Christmas lighting.

Banners may not be placed on Sanidad Pública Avenue nor in the city’s historic center. Fixing shall be done using clamps and elastic protection between the lampposts and the grips, and the assembly and disassembly shall be the responsibility of the advertising company.

Municipal premises for propaganda events

Twelve premises are made available to the Electoral Board, with indications of capacity and availability:

  • Campo del Sur: assembly hall of 128 m².
  • Carlos III: assembly hall of 105 m², without chairs.
  • Fermín Salvochea: assembly hall of 142 m².
  • Gadir: assembly hall of 100 m².
  • José Celestino Mutis: assembly hall of 150 m², without chairs.
  • Cortadura: assembly hall of 80 m².
  • Adela del Moral: assembly hall of 100 m², without chairs.
  • Profesor Tierno Galván: assembly hall of 72 m².
  • Reyes Católicos: assembly hall of 100 m².
  • San Felipe: courtyard of 325 m², without chairs.
  • San Rafael: assembly hall of 100 m², without chairs.
  • Santa Teresa: assembly hall of 90 m², on the first floor and without chairs.

It is advised to contact each school before organizing any event and to consult Civil Protection regarding capacity and security conditions. If a party requests several spaces for the same day and time, they must communicate which one they will use three days in advance, and the Electoral Board must notify the City Council two business days in advance.

Public squares and rules of use

The squares available for public events are:

  • Plaza de la Catedral.
  • Plaza de San Juan de Dios.
  • Plaza del Palillero.
  • Parque Celestino Mutis.
  • Plaza Arqueólogo Pelayo Quintero (formerly Plaza de la Estrella).
  • Plaza Campo de la Aviación, except on November 25, 2026, due to the Dance Festival.
  • Glorieta Ana Orantes.
  • Plaza San Lorenzo del Puntal.
  • Plaza de San Antonio.
  • Plaza Jerez de la Frontera.
  • Plaza Antigua Telegrafía sin Hilos.

Any activity —information tables, placement of banners, or electoral advertising— constitutes occupation of public roads and requires prior notification of the day and time to the Zonal Electoral Board, which confirms the organization and hourly distribution. Political groups are dependent on this confirmation.

The agreement directly affects parties, schools, and residents of the historic center, who see the placement of banners limited in that area while squares and premises are made available for propaganda. Representatives of the proclaimed candidacies may request the use of these spaces from the Electoral Board during the campaign period.
