La Junta Electoral de Aguilar se reconstituye con nuevos vocales judiciales

The Zonal Electoral Board of Aguilar de la Frontera has been constituted with new judicial members and with Antonio José Puntas Mata as president, according to the edict published by the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba on Thursday, October 22, 2026 (number 205, page 15285, reference BOP-A-2026-3545). The constitution occurs “following changes produced in the initial Judicial Members,” in compliance with article 14.3 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime. The issuing body is the Zonal Electoral Board itself, based in Aguilar de la Frontera, and the edict is signed by its secretary dated October 19, 2026.

The framework: general elections already called

The reconstitution is part of the process for the General Elections called for Sunday, November 29, 2026, via Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5, published in the Official State Gazette on the 6th. The Zonal Electoral Board of Aguilar de la Frontera had already been constituted on October 9, in a first edict disseminated in BOP number 198, of October 13, 2026, page 14758 (BOP-A-2026-3466). That initial composition was not the final one: the new publication replaces one of the designated judicial members and confirms the rest of the body.

Zonal electoral boards are the basic territorial level of the electoral administration and assume functions such as the designation of venues and the resolution of incidents during the campaign. In the case of Aguilar, its scope includes the municipalities of Aguilar de la Frontera, Puente Genil, Moriles, and Monturque, according to the list of official venues reserved for propaganda acts published in BOP number 204, of October 21, 2026 (BOP-A-2026-3566).

Composition of the body

The edict details the four positions that make up the Zonal Electoral Board:

  • Presidency: Antonio José Puntas Mata, magistrate in position number 4 of the Civil Section of the Court of First Instance of Córdoba.
  • Judicial Member: Macarena Sánchez del Rosal, magistrate in position number 9 of the Civil Section of the Court of First Instance of Córdoba.
  • Judicial Member: María Victoria Fernández de Molina Tirado, magistrate of position number 1 of the Criminal Section of the Court of First Instance of Córdoba.
  • Secretariat: María Molina García, lawyer of the Administration of Justice of the Court of First Instance of Aguilar de la Frontera.

What changes regarding the October constitution

The change affects the second judicial member. In the initial constitution of October 9, the members listed were Irene Morales Gómez, magistrate in position number 1 of the Civil and Instruction Section of the Court of First Instance of Aguilar de la Frontera, and Macarena Sánchez del Rosal. The new edict retains Sánchez del Rosal and replaces Morales Gómez with Fernández de Molina Tirado, magistrate of the Criminal Section of the Córdoba court. The presidency and the secretariat remain unchanged with respect to the first agreement.

The published text does not detail the specific reasons for the substitution, which is limited to stating the “changes produced in the initial Judicial Members” and reporting the resulting composition, in accordance with the duty of publicity imposed by article 14.3 of the LOREG.

Relevance for the region

The final composition of the Zonal Electoral Board of Aguilar de la Frontera arrives less than six weeks before the polls on November 29 and with the electoral campaign about to start. This body is responsible for the proclamation of candidacies, the oversight of propaganda, the designation of polling stations, and the resolution of claims submitted by political parties in four municipalities of the Córdoba countryside. With the judicial members now confirmed, the board is in a position to validly adopt agreements throughout the electoral process.
