The Ministry of Presidency, Health and Emergencies of the Regional Government of Andalusia has announced the XIII Edition of the Andalusia Local Audiovisual Communication Awards, corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, through a resolution from the General Directorate of Social Communication dated August 8, 2026. The call for entries is published in the Official Gazette of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA) number 168, of August 31, 2026, along with its official summary.
The financial endowment amounts to 24,000 euros, distributed at a rate of 4,000 euros for each of the six categories announced. The awards are funded by budget items 0100010000 G/52C/46002/00, 0100010000 G/52C/47000/00, and 0100010000 G/52C/48000/00 (Awards, Contests, and Competitions).
Regulatory Framework and Background
The call is governed by the regulatory bases approved by the Order of May 14, 2020, of the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior (BOJA no. 98, of May 25). The resolution is issued by virtue of the delegation of powers conferred by said order, in relation to Article 15 of Decree 189/2026, of July 30, which establishes the organic structure of the Ministry.
With these awards, the Regional Government aims to distinguish works produced by Andalusian local audiovisual media that reflect constitutional principles and values, the plurality of public opinion, and cultural and linguistic diversity, from a perspective of proximity that generalist programming does not always achieve.
Categories and Beneficiaries
Six categories are announced, in accordance with Article 4 of the regulatory order:
- Local television news (news program or series of programs).
- Local radio news (news program or series of programs).
- Local television entertainment (program or series of programs).
- Local radio entertainment (program or series of programs).
- Local and proximity information in web format.
- Local and proximity news career.
Natural or legal persons providing public or private audiovisual communication services, as well as owners of websites who can prove their identity and representation, may apply. In the career category, candidacies may be submitted on one’s own initiative or by third parties. Work teams grouping natural persons may also participate.
Submission and Deadlines
The works must be original and must have been broadcast or published on local radio, television, or the internet in Andalusia within the year prior to the publication of the call. Applications shall be submitted using the Annex I form through the Single Electronic Registry of the Administration of the Junta de Andalucía, accompanied by the supporting documentation.
The submission period will be 10 business days, counting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOJA. The resolution will take effect on the day following its publication. The call is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 923162, and is signed by the Director General of Social Communication, Marta Olea Merino, by delegation of the Counselor.
Relevance for proximity media
The call represents direct support for the local Andalusian audiovisual fabric, which in many cases is left out of the general programming of major media outlets. For proximity radio, television, and websites throughout the community, these awards represent both public recognition and a financial incentive of 4,000 euros per category, in a context where local and proximity information is consolidating as an essential value for informative plurality in Andalusia.
