The Regional Government announces €450,000 to scale up the agri-food cooperative movement in 2026

The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development and Environmental Policy of the Regional Government of Castilla y León has announced for 2026 the subsidies for promoting the scaling-up of the agri-food cooperative sector, with 450,000 euros distributed over nine lines. The call, approved by order of 11 August 2026, is published in extract form in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) No. 157, of 14 August 2026, and applications may be submitted until 20 September 2026.

The extract is published in accordance with Articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Law on Subsidies, and its full text may be consulted in the National Subsidies Database with identifiers BDNS 924478 and 924488, as well as on the electronic office of the regional administration. The scheme governing these subsidies was approved by Order AGR/780/2024, of 30 July (BOCYL No. 153, of 7 August 2024), amended by Order AGR/692/2025, of 23 June (BOCYL No. 126, of 3 July 2025).

Nine lines to gain scale

The purpose of the call is to facilitate the scaling-up and business planning processes of agri-food cooperatives and community land and livestock farming cooperatives in Castilla y León, so that they achieve sufficient scale to be competitive in agricultural product markets. The text distinguishes nine aid lines, each linked to an article of the basic order:

• Lines referring to articles 16, 22, 28, 34, 40, 46, 52, 58 and 64 of the basic order, one per line.
• Beneficiaries: natural persons and entities covered by the aforementioned articles that meet the general requirements of Article 2 of the basic order.
• Objective: that the associative entities acquire sufficient size to compete in agricultural product markets.

Budget and financing

The subsidies will be granted under budget item 0302G/412A01/77033/0 of the General Budgets of the Community of Castilla y León for 2026, for a total amount of 450,000 euros. The extract clarifies that the two codes assigned by the National Subsidies Database correspond to the same call for applications, which can be consulted at https://www.infosubvenciones.es and https://www.tramitacastillayleon.jcyl.es.

Deadline until 20 September

Applications may be submitted from the day following the publication of the extract in the BOCYL until 20 September 2026. The order was signed in Valladolid on 11 August 2026 by the Regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development and Environmental Policy, Joaquín Antonio Pino.

The sizing of cooperativism is thus proposed as one of the levers of regional agricultural policy: in the face of the atomization of the associative fabric, the Community is committed to entities with greater size and negotiation capacity, a declared objective of the call and of the bases that regulate it, and of special importance for the agricultural sector of Castilla y León.
