The Regional Government announces 119 vacancies for environmental agents, 12 for people with disabilities

The Regional Government of Castilla y León announces 119 vacancies via the open access system for the Body of Facultative Assistants, Environmental Agents Scale of the Community Administration, of which 12 are reserved for the quota for persons with a recognized disability degree equal to or greater than 33%. The call is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) no. 183, Monday, September 21, 2026, by means of the Resolution of September 17, 2026, of the Vice-Ministry of Public Administrations, Institutional Relations and Citizen Services, under the Ministry of the Presidency. The deadline for submitting applications is 20 business days starting from the day following the publication.

Distribution of vacancies and the employment offers covering them

The vacancies are drawn from two public employment offers already approved by the Regional Government, according to the breakdown appearing in the second base of the resolution:

• Agreement 112/2024, of December 5: 22 general quota vacancies and 2 reserved for persons with disabilities (24 in total).
• Agreement 52/2025, of December 11: 85 general quota vacancies and 10 reserved (95 in total).
• Final sum: 107 general quota vacancies and 12 for disability, totaling the 119 announced.

Those applying through the reserved quota may only do so via that route, and any disability vacancies that remain vacant will be added to the general quota. Furthermore, if an applicant from that quota passes the exercises without obtaining a vacancy but with a score higher than other candidates in the general quota, they will be added to the list of successful candidates according to their score order.

Requirements, fee, and submission of applications

Applicants must meet, at the end of the application period and until taking office, the following requirements:

• Spanish nationality, nationality of a member state of the European Union, or the assimilated cases provided for in the fifth base.
• Be at least 16 years old and not exceed the maximum retirement age.
• Higher Technician degree in Forestry and Natural Environment Management or equivalent.
• Class B driving license and functional capacity for the performance of the position.

The examination fee is 15.40 euros, in accordance with Order EYH/870/2024, of September 6. Those who prove a disability degree equal to or greater than 33%, members of large families within the established income limits, and victims of terrorism are exempt. The application is completed electronically via the portal https://empleopublico.jcyl.es, using a digital certificate or electronic ID (DNI), and is addressed to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the managing body of the process.

Three eliminatory exercises and calendar

The process will be resolved through a competitive examination, with three mandatory and eliminatory exercises:

• First exercise: a 70-question multiple-choice questionnaire, plus 7 reserve questions, to be answered in 88 minutes; each error penalizes one-quarter of the value of the correct answer.
• Second exercise: a physical aptitude test of light marching and orientation, between 9 and 10 kilometers with a minimum of 4 beacons, in a maximum of 100 minutes for men and 105 minutes for women.
• Third exercise: four practical cases (90 minutes) and a questionnaire of 50 short questions about samples (50 minutes).

The maximum score is 100 points: the first exercise is valued from 0 to 50 and the third from 0 to 50, with a minimum of 25 to pass. The first exercise will be held within a maximum period of four months from publication, and the first and third exercises will take place in Valladolid. The order of appearance for candidates will begin with the letter “F”, according to the draw published in the BOCYL on March 2, 2026.

Qualifying Board and appeal process

The Qualifying Board will consist of a presidency, a secretariat, and three members, whose principals and alternates will be appointed later, and will be headquartered at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, at calle Rigoberto Cortejoso no. 14, 47014. The resolution bears the signature of the Vice-Minister José Miguel de Elías Hernández and exhausts the administrative route: a motion for reconsideration may be filed before the Ministry of the Presidency within one month, and a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of Valladolid of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León within two months.

The call for applications is one of the largest public employment offers of the year in the Community and reinforces a key scale for the surveillance, inspection, and protection of the natural environment in Castilla y León. For the candidates, the calendar is demanding: the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates must be published within a maximum of two months and the first exercise within four, with a global period of eight months between the final list and the proposal of successful candidates.
