The Regional Government of Castilla y León has dismissed Ignacio de la Fuente Cabria as Director General of Hunting, Fishing, and the Rural Environment of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment, and Environmental Policy. The dismissal was agreed upon by the Governing Council at its meeting on October 1, 2026, and was published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) on Friday, October 2, via Agreement 142/2026.
The agreement was adopted in accordance with article 16.l) of Law 3/2001, of July 3, on the Government and Administration of the Community of Castilla y León, at the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment, and Environmental Policy, Joaquín Antonio Pino, and following deliberation by the Governing Council. The text appears in section I.B.1, Appointments, Situations, and Incidents, on page 13 of the gazette, and was signed in Valladolid on October 1, 2026, by the President of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and by the minister himself.

A key position in hunting management
The Directorate General of Hunting, Fishing, and the Rural Environment is the body that processes and signs a large part of the administrative activity regarding hunting matters in the Community. Among its most recent actions published in the gazette are:
- The Resolution of August 25, 2026, regarding the summons in ordinary procedure 154/2026, before the Administrative Litigation Chamber, Section 001-Burgos, of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León, for damages caused by wolves.
- The Resolution of August 25, 2026, regarding the summons in ordinary procedure 160/2026, before the same judicial body, for a claim of patrimonial liability on the same matter.
Both resolutions are signed by Ignacio de la Fuente Cabria as Director General of Hunting, Fishing, and the Rural Environment.
No substitute published in the same gazette
The October 2nd bulletin does not include the appointment of a new head for the General Directorate of Hunting, Fishing, and the Rural Environment. The Authorities and Personnel section for that day does include other calls for appointments by free designation, such as Order PRE/992/2026, of September 28, from the Ministry of the Presidency, and orders EYH/993/2026 and EYH/994/2026, from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The cessation leaves the general directorate that manages hunting and fishing in Castilla y León without a head, competencies with a direct impact on the hunting sector and the rural environment. The bulletin does not anticipate who will assume the position nor if an appointment will occur in the coming days.
