The Regional Government authorizes the expansion of the Coria del Río electrical transformer

The Territorial Delegation of Economy, Finance, European Funds, Social Dialogue and of Industry, Energy and Mines in Seville has granted E-Distribución Redes Digitales SLU the prior administrative and construction authorization to replace the transformer of the outdoor transformation center CTI 16.742, located at the corner of Central Street and Olmo Street in Coria del Río (Seville). The resolution, signed on August 25, 2026, by the territorial delegate Antonio José Ramírez Sierra, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 171, dated September 3, 2026, with reference BOP-SE-2026-171028.

The action is a response to the saturation of the current transformer, which is being replaced by one of higher capacity to improve the electricity supply of the Hermandad urbanization. The request was submitted by the distributor on February 26, 2026, and processed in accordance with Title VII of Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, developing Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector.

Installation Characteristics

The resolution authorizes the replacement of transformer TR1, which increases from 100 kVA to 250 kVA, at the outdoor transformation center CTI 16.742 “URB.HERMAND.2”, belonging to the “HYTASA” medium voltage line of the “FUENTE_R” substation. The budget for the action amounts to 9,828.56 euros.

Processing and Affected Bodies

During the regulatory thirty-day period, the request and technical documentation were forwarded to the City Council of Coria del Río, the only body that, according to the promoter’s declaration, could be affected by the procedure. The resolution records the agreement of the affected bodies with the documentation provided and the reports submitted within the deadline.

The authority to resolve corresponds to the holder of the General Secretariat of Energy, delegated to the provincial territorial management bodies through the Resolution of March 11, 2022, of the Directorate General of Energy, in application of Decree 163/2022, of August 9, and Decree 300/2022, of August 30.

Conditions and Deadlines

The authorization enables the holder to construct the projected installation, with an execution period of two years starting from the day following the notification of the resolution. Before being put into service, the installation must have the corresponding operating authorization, and the holder must notify the Delegation in writing of the commencement and completion of the works.

The resolution also recalls the prohibition, as of January 1, 2026, on putting into operation electrical switchgear up to 24 kV that uses greenhouse gases (SF6), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/573, and any exception to which the company adheres must be communicated to the competent authority.

Against the resolution, which does not exhaust the administrative route, an appeal for reversal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia within one month of its notification.

The power expansion of the transformer in the Hermandad urbanization represents a direct improvement in the quality and reliability of the electricity supply for the residents of Coria del Río, alleviating the detected saturation and providing the network with a greater capacity to respond to current demand.
