La Junta amplía en 8,4 millones las subvenciones de empleo y formación

The Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía) has increased the credit for employment and training grants called for 2026 by 8,400,000 euros, after finding that the applications submitted far exceed the planned allocation. The decision was adopted by the General Directorate of Vocational Training in the Labor Field, under the Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment, through the Resolution of October 14, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA) number 203, of October 20, 2026, on page 13691.

From 108.1 to 116.5 million

The call is governed by the Order of September 13, 2021 (BOJA number 180, of September 17, 2021), which regulates the employment and training program and approves the regulatory bases for competitive bidding. The 2026 call was approved by the Resolution of July 20, 2026, of the General Directorate of Vocational Training for Employment, published in BOJA number 142, of July 24, 2026.

The initially planned credit amounted to 108,106,379.11 euros, with a distribution by province that assigned 103,615,861.59 euros to public entities and 2,245,258.76 euros to non-profit entities for each of the annual periods of 2026 and 2027. With the expansion, the total for the call rises to 116,506,379.11 euros.

The resolution is based on the maximum additional amount of 8.4 million provided for in letter f) of the seventh resolution of the call, which allows for the application of extra credit without the need for a new call, provided that availability is previously declared and the corresponding budget modification is approved.

639 applications for 232.1 million

The details of the demand submitted during the application period, open from July 25 to September 11, 2026, are as follows:

  • 639 applications in total, for an amount of 232,112,450.96 euros.
  • 595 applications from public entities in Andalusia, for 216,440,623.04 euros.
  • 44 applications from non-profit entities, for 15,671,827.92 euros.

The text confirms that there are sufficient applications to exhaust the initial allocation and even the declared additional amount, and that there are requests that meet the requirements but cannot be funded due to budget insufficiency.

1.4 million for six provinces

The expansion is exclusively destined for public entities in Andalusia and is distributed at a rate of 1,400,000 euros per province in Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Jaén, Málaga, and Seville. Cádiz and Huelva are excluded from the additional allocation, as it was deemed unnecessary after the initial study of the applications, the expected withdrawals, and the detected causes for inadmissibility.

  • Almería: 11,991,463.93 euros (compared to the initial 10,591,463.93).
  • Córdoba: 12,318,461.45 euros (compared to 10,918,461.45).
  • Granada: 14,625,155.65 euros (compared to 13,225,155.65).
  • Jaén: 11,788,057.15 euros (compared to 10,388,057.15).
  • Málaga: 16,633,780.92 euros (compared to 15,233,780.92).
  • Sevilla: 22,123,172.32 euros (compared to 20,723,172.32).

The amount is allocated to budget item 1400180000G/32D/46004/00 S0044 for the 2026 fiscal year and is financed with funds from the General State Administration, through the credits allocated in the expenditure budget of the State Public Employment Service.

No new application period

The resolution, signed by Director General María Eva Melero Torres, takes effect from the day of its publication in the BOJA and applies to all applications submitted within the scope of public entities in accordance with the call of July 20, 2026. It does not imply the opening of a new period for submitting applications nor does it restart the countdown of the period to issue and notify the award resolution.

The text warns that the additional amount is exclusively linked to credits for the 2026 fiscal year, therefore it cannot be applied to non-profit private entities, whose allocation is structured across 2026 and 2027 due to their payment method: 50% after the resolution and another 50% after justifying the first payment, compared to the 100% advance received by public entities.

The program finances temporary employment and training projects in occupations of public utility or general interest, aimed at combining formal learning with professional practice and improving the labor market insertion of the participants.

The expansion unlocks the processing of files that were already underway and which, without this credit, would have remained without funding: city councils and other Andalusian local entities that applied with training projects for the unemployed may opt for a favorable resolution, although the increase does not reach the third sector, which maintains its allocation intact.
