Por FactBox Admin

The La Jonquera City Council has announced grants for the acquisition of textbooks, reading books, and mandatory computer support for students in early childhood education (2nd cycle), primary, and compulsory secondary education for the 2026 fiscal year. The call stems from a Mayoral resolution dated September 24, 2026, and was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 189, dated October 1, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_189_8444 (edict 8444, pp. 1-2). Interested families may submit their application between October 13 and November 13, 2026, both dates inclusive.
Regulatory framework and official publication
The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS), with identification number 931911.
The regulatory bases are those definitively approved by the La Jonquera City Council and published in BOP no. 235, of December 9, 2024. The resolution is signed by the mayor, Míriam Lanero Carrillo, dated September 25, 2026.
Beneficiaries and requirements
Students registered as residents (empadronat) in La Jonquera may receive the aid, provided that residency in the municipality is effective at the time of applying for the grant. The main requirements are:
- To be enrolled in early childhood education (2nd cycle), primary, or compulsory secondary education.
- To study in school centers within the municipality or outside of it, whether public, semi-private (concertada), and/or private.
- To comply with the conditions determined by the regulatory bases.
The call applies to the 2024-2025 academic year and subsequent years, therefore including students of the 2026 academic year.
What the aid covers and the amount
The financial aid is intended for the acquisition of textbooks, reading books, and mandatory computer equipment. The published text specifies what is understood by each concept:
- Mandatory textbooks and reading books: printed material determined by the center, of a durable nature and with a basic function for the development of the curriculum.
- Mandatory computer equipment: material determined by the center and necessary to participate in the digital format textbook program of the Department of Education (digital licenses and computers and/or similar).
Regarding the amounts, the maximum amount is 40 euros per student for both early childhood (2nd cycle) and primary education students, as well as for secondary students. The maximum credit to be distributed in this call is 600.00 euros, financed through the budget application 3-3200-4800201 (Grant for primary school textbooks) of the 2026 fiscal year budget.
If the number of applications exceeds the amount provided for in the assigned budget item, a proportional distribution will be applied among all submitted applications that are eligible.
Deadline and submission of applications
The deadline for submitting aid applications is established from October 13 to November 13, 2026, both inclusive. The full text of the call and the guidelines can be consulted at the BDNS, at the address https://www.infosubvenciones.es/bdnstrans/GE/es/convocatoria/931911.
Impact on families
With this call, the Ajuntament de la Jonquera supports families in the municipality with one of the most significant expenses at the start of the school year, namely the acquisition of textbooks and mandatory digital material. The aid of up to 40 euros per student and the total credit of 600 euros cover, however, a limited number of applications, so families must submit the documentation within the fixed deadline to ensure receipt.
