Por FactBox Admin

The Regional Health Management of Castilla y León has approved the final list of biosanitary research, health management, and socio-sanitary care projects to be developed in its centers during 2026, with total funding of 1,607,488.58 euros. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of September 28, 2026, from the Presidency of the Regional Health Management, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCyL) on Friday, October 2, 2026, issue number 192, with the reference BOCYL-D-02102026-192-31. Out of the 298 projects submitted, the resolution selects those that passed the scientific-technical evaluation and fit within the available credit.
The procedure is governed by the Resolution of June 13, 2025, of the President of the Regional Health Management (BOCyL of June 26), modified by the Resolution of May 29, 2026 (BOCyL of June 4). Of the 298 applications, 22 were excluded for failing to comply with the call’s obligations and 37 were considered withdrawn for failing to submit corrections within the deadline; therefore, 239 projects proceeded to examination by the Evaluation Commission, with technical advice from the evaluating entity.
With the Commission’s report of July 15, 2026, the president issued a provisional resolution on July 23, 2026, which was notified to the interested parties and published on the Health Research Portal of the Junta de Castilla y León, opening the period for appeals. Having reviewed the appeals, the evaluations, and the Commission’s reports of September 4, 2026, and the proposal of the Director General of Quality, Evaluation and Health Inspection, the president of the Regional Health Management, Alejandro Vázquez Ramos, signed the final resolution in Valladolid on September 28, 2026.
Funding by modalities
The distribution is organized into four modalities, all charged to the budgetary application 05.22.467B01.640.00 of the General Budgets of the Community of Castilla y León for 2026:
- Modality A, group I (hospital care): 1,161,770 euros, with a cutoff score of 7.45 as the credit was exhausted.
- Modality A, group II: 117,615.33 euros, with a cutoff score of 6.
- Modality B (Health Emergencies): 19,840 euros, cutoff score of 6.
- Modality C (Primary Care): 308,263.25 euros, cutoff score of 6.
The financial contribution for modality A1 was increased by 434,281.42 euros using the accumulated surpluses from modalities A2, B, and C, which did not consume all their credit. IT and reprography consumables and office supplies may not exceed 10% of the granted amount, and travel and per diems may not exceed 7%.
Selected projects
Annexes I to III contain the selected projects, ordered by the assigned code:
- Annex I: modality A of hospital care, with 65 projects in group I and 7 in group II.
- Annex II: modality B of Health Emergencies, with a single project.
- Annex III: modality C of Primary Care, with 22 projects.
Participating centers include the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid (HCUV), the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca (CAUSA), the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de León (CAULE), the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Burgos (CAUBU), the Hospital Universitario Río Hortega (HURH), the Hospital El Bierzo, and the healthcare complexes of Soria, Palencia, Zamora, and Ávila. The funded lines encompass artificial intelligence applied to diagnosis, CAR-T therapies, leukemias and multiple myeloma, metastatic breast cancer, HIV-1, migraine, maternal health in rural areas, smoking cessation, and unwanted loneliness in elderly people. Individual amounts range from 2,000 euros for the project on mechanical restraints (GRS/3528/A2/2025) to 20,000 euros, which numerous initiatives reach.
Allegations, exclusions, and discarded projects
The resolution grants in full or in part the allegations of seven projects: GRS/3254/C/2025, GRS/3313/A1/2025, GRS/3315/C/2025, GRS/3322/A1/2025, GRS/3345/C/2025, GRS/3431/A1/2025, and GRS/3498/A1/2025. Conversely, it dismisses those presented by the principal investigators of 25 other projects.
- Annex IV: non-selected projects from modality A (groups I and II).
- Annex V: non-selected from modality B.
- Annex VI: non-selected from modality C.
- Annex VII: 22 applications excluded for non-compliance with the guidelines.
- Annex VIII: 37 applications withdrawn for failure to rectify within the deadline.
Deadlines and appeal process
Against the resolution, which concludes the administrative process, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the President of the Regional Health Management within one month, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, or direct challenge before the contentious-administrative jurisdictional order within two months, according to Law 29/1998. Both deadlines are calculated from the day following the publication in the BOCyL. The final resolution is also published on the Health Research Portal of the Junta de Castilla y León.
The call organizes the research activity of Sacyl centers for the next fiscal year and concentrates the majority of the budget on hospital care, while Primary Care and Health Emergencies share the remainder. For healthcare professionals in Castilla y León, the publication determines which projects receive funding, the amount, and the spending limits, and opens the appeals calendar for applicants who were excluded or not selected.
