The Generalitat distributes 7.03 million among 59 Valencian sports federations
Por FactBox Admin

The Generalitat has granted a nominative subsidy of 7,036,000 euros to the 59 sports federations of the Comunitat Valenciana to finance their sports interest programs during the 2026 fiscal year. This is done through the Resolution of October 21, 2026, from the Second Vice Presidency and Conselleria of the Presidency, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) no. 10479, of October 26, 2026 (reference DOGV-C-2026-33388). The distribution arrives with the federated course already well underway and with barely a month’s margin to justify the expenses.
A budget line of seven million
The funds come from the subsidy line S1765, titled “Aid for the development of federated sports,” included in Law 4/2026, of July 22, on the Generalitat budgets for 2026, within section G0105, service G010504, managing center G01050408 (Directorate General for Sport) and program 457A00 Promotion of Sporting Activity, chapter IV of current expenditures.
The grant is direct and nominative in nature, supported by article 22.2.a) of the Law 38/2003, of November 17, general law on subsidies, and article 168.1.A) of the Law 1/2015, of February 6, on public finance of the instrumental public sector and subsidies. The text justifies the nominative route on the grounds that only the federations can execute these actions, which would make a competitive call for applications “incongruous and ineffective.”
The resolution is signed by Luis Cervera Torres, Director General for Sport, by delegation of the conselleria (Resolution of April 11, 2026, DOGV 10342). The line is part of the Presidency’s Strategic Subsidy Plan for 2024-2026 and the Development Plan of the Directorate General for Sport, aimed at reducing administrative burdens and professionalizing the federative structure.
Eight programs and their allocations
The aid is divided into eight sports interest programs, with the following global amounts:
- Program I (ordinary management and operation): 2,404,935 euros.
- Program II (ordinary sporting activities of the season): 1,172,190 euros.
- Program III (general sports technical training): 533,500 euros.
- Program IV (sports specialization plans of Cheste): 605,000 euros.
- Program V (regional teams and official symbols): 281,400 euros.
- Program VI (Jocs Esportius de la Comunitat Valenciana): 594,000 euros.
- Program VII (Esport a l’Escola): 664,975 euros.
- Program VIII (special promotion activities): 780,000 euros.
Program VIII includes three unique projects: Aula Ciclista, with the Cycling Federation of the CV; Hospi.Esport, with the Adapted Sports Federation of the CV, and Pilota a l’Escola, with the Valencian Pilota Federation of the CV. In Program VII, each federation teaches a six-session didactic unit in CEPAFE centers, with a maximum of 31,000 euros per modality and a minimum of 17,000 euros.
Valencian pilota and cycling, main beneficiaries
Annex II details the amounts federation by federation. The Valencian Pilota Federation receives the most, with 835,500 euros, followed by the Cycling Federation, with 448,100 euros, and the Adapted Sports Federation (FESA), with 339,300 euros. Following them are:
- Handball: 243,530 euros.
- Rugby: 215,600 euros.
- Athletics: 206,060 euros.
- Volleyball: 202,530 euros.
- Table tennis: 190,370 euros.
- Triathlon: 186,970 euros.
- Swimming: 174,430 euros.
At the opposite end, the federations of Traditional games and sports (15,370 euros), American Football (15,000 euros), and Tiro y arrastre (15,770 euros) receive the lowest allocations.
65% advance and justification in November
The resolution provides for an advance payment of 65% of the amount granted for each program, without the need for a guarantee, in accordance with article 47.17.b) of Law 4/2026. The remainder will be released once the advance has been justified and the supporting documents verified.
The deadlines are tight:
- Ten business days from the day following publication to waive the aid.
- November 27, 2026, as the deadline to justify the application of the funds.
- Mandatory audit when the total grant is equal to or greater than 60,000 euros.
- One month for an appeal for reversal and two months for a contentious-administrative appeal.
Expenses generated and paid since December 1, 2025, and in programs VI, VII, and VIII, since September 1, 2025, due to the school calendar offset, are admitted. Personnel expenses derived from the hiring of members of the federative governing bodies are not eligible for subsidies.
The impact of the measure is twofold: it sustains the ordinary operation of the federations, which are highly dependent on this funding, and finances grassroots sports through the Jocs Esportius, Esport a l’Escola, and the school cycling and pilota programs. For clubs and families, the continuity of these activities depends on the federations justifying the expenditure in barely one month.
