La Garganta initially approves its 2027 budget and opens the period for objections
Por FactBox Admin

The La Garganta City Council has initially approved its General Budget for the 2027 financial year, amounting to 328,792.52 euros in the income statement and 328,792.52 euros in the expenditure statement. The agreement was adopted unanimously during the entity’s Plenary session held on September 29, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in the announcement with official reference BOP-2026-5020. From the date of publication, a fifteen-day period is open for the submission of claims and allegations.
The announcement complies with the provisions of Article 169 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and Article 20 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20. Along with the budget figures, the Plenary gave the green light to the Execution Bases that will govern the municipal economic management during 2027.
The public exhibition does not only affect the numbers of the accounting document: during the public information period, the complete file and the mandatory documentation—that is, the set of backgrounds and supporting documents that sustain the income forecasts and expenditure allocations—remain available to any interested party.
A balanced budget of 328,792.52 euros
The initially approved General Budget presents an identical amount in both sides of the municipal accounts: 328,792.52 euros in income and 328,792.52 euros in expenses. It is, therefore, a document balanced between projected resources and recognized obligations.
Added to this figure are the Execution Bases, the internal regulatory instrument that develops the budget execution rules and which was approved jointly with it in the same plenary session. The agreement had the unanimous support of the members of the corporation, as stated in the official announcement.
Fifteen days to examine the file
The file and the mandatory documentation will remain open to the public for fifteen days starting from the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres. During this period, any interested person may examine them and formulate the claims or allegations they deem appropriate.
The main points of the procedure are as follows:
- Deadline: fifteen days from the publication of the announcement, dated October 27, 2026.
- Object: the 2027 General Budget, its Execution Bases, and the mandatory documentation.
- Place for in-person consultation: the municipal offices of the La Garganta City Council.
- Electronic means: the entity’s electronic office, http://lagarganta.sedelectronica.es.
- Applied regulations: Article 169 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and Article 20 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20.
Final approval if there are no claims
The published text specifies the consequences of the procedure: in accordance with the agreement adopted, the budget will be considered definitively approved if no claim is filed during the aforementioned period. The public information phase thus serves as the final filter before the 2027 accounts are closed.
The announcement appears in Section I, Local Administration, of the provincial bulletin, within the city councils section, and was signed in La Garganta on October 20, 2026, by the mayor-president, Juan González Castellano.
Impact for residents
The publication marks the moment when residents and any person with a legitimate interest can review how municipal funds will be spent next year and challenge the line items before the document becomes final. The budget enables the provision of municipal services throughout 2027 and, as no claims were registered within the period, it will be approved without the need for a new plenary pronouncement.
