Por FactBox Admin

The Badajoz City Council, through the Municipal Sports Foundation (FMD), has announced grants for a maximum total amount of 203,000 euros destined for non-profit entities in the city for the 2026 annual period in absolute categories. The call is approved by resolution of the delegated president of the FMD dated October 29, 2026, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 211, corresponding to Wednesday, November 4, 2026, under Announcement 4328/2026. The call is registered in the National Grants Database with the identification BDNS 938960.
A distribution across twelve sports programs
The global allocation is distributed across twelve closed programs, one per modality and category, with pre-assigned amounts:
- Program A, men’s football: 10,000.00 €
- Program B, women’s football: 44,000.00 €
- Program C, men’s futsal: 16,000.00 €
- Program D, men’s basketball: 32,000.00 €
- Program E, women’s basketball: 16,000.00 €
- Program F, wheelchair basketball: 25,000.00 €
- Program G, men’s volleyball: 10,000.00 €
- Program H, women’s volleyball: 15,000.00 €
- Program I, men’s handball: 5,000.00 €
- Program J, women’s handball: 5,000.00 €
- Program K, athletics: 20,000.00 €
- Program L, rugby: 5,000.00 €
Women’s football concentrates the largest allocation (44,000 euros), followed by men’s basketball (32,000) and wheelchair basketball (25,000), while men’s handball, women’s handball, and rugby receive 5,000 euros each.
Limits per project according to the competition category
On this basis, the text establishes a maximum amount to be granted per project, which depends on the category in which the team competes and the scope of the organizing federation. With a national federation, the limits are 25,000 euros in the first category, 20,000 in the second, 15,000 in the third, 10,000 in the fourth, and 5,000 in the fifth. If the competition is organized by a regional federation, the amounts decrease to 15,000, 10,000, 10,000, 5,000, and 3,000 euros respectively.
Beneficiaries must be non-profit legal entities or Sports Public Limited Companies (Sociedades Anónimas Deportivas) with their registered office in the municipality of Badajoz. Furthermore, the proposed activity must coincide with that of the call, the entity must be registered in the General Registry of Sports Entities of Extremadura or in the corresponding official registry prior to the publication of the guidelines, manage the projects directly, and not incur the prohibitions of article 13.2 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. It is also required to have participated in the competition and category for which the aid is requested in the 2025/26 season —or in 2026 for sports that compete by calendar year— and to have justified previous subsidies from the City Council for similar purposes.
The purpose of the aid is the financing of current club expenses incurred between January 1 and October 31, 2026, the same period in which the subsidized projects must be executed. The call is supported by the General Subsidy Ordinance of the Badajoz City Council, published in the BOP on February 2, 2009.
Five business days and exclusively electronic processing
The submission period is five business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP, meaning the window closes on November 11, 2026. Applications must indicate the amount requested and the program being applied for, adhere to the model in Annex I of the resolution —available on the FMD website, www.aytobadajoz.es/fmd— and be accompanied by the documentation required in the guidelines.
Submission shall be carried out exclusively by electronic means, through the electronic registry of the Municipal Sports Foundation (Fundación Municipal de Deportes) in the municipal electronic office, or in any of the electronic registries provided for in article 2.1 of Law 39/2015. The resolution is signed by the president of the FMD, Juan Parejo Fernández, by virtue of the delegation decree of June 27, 2023 (BOP number 126, of July 4, 2023).
Impact for the city’s clubs
The call arrives with the fiscal year nearly closed and with a very tight schedule: only five business days to gather the application, the documentation, and the justification of previous aid. Any Badajoz club competing in these twelve modalities that does not submit its request through the electronic registry before November 11 will lose access to a fund of 203,000 euros that finances current expenses already incurred since January.
