The Provincial Council resolves the 2026 audiovisual grants with four beneficiaries

The Provincial Council of Badajoz has resolved the call for grants aimed at companies or freelancers in the cinematographic or audiovisual production sector developing projects during the year 2026, granting a total of 340,200 euros to four beneficiaries. The resolution, signed by the Delegate Deputy of the Functional Area of Cultural Identity, Sport and Youth, Social Welfare and International Cooperation, Ricardo Cabezas Martín, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 169, dated September 3, 2026, via Announcement 3481/2026.

The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Province on May 20, 2026, is processed in accordance with base 7 of its own regulatory bases. The resolution is issued under the protection of Law 7/85, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies and its Regulation, approved by Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, as well as the General Ordinance on Subsidies and the entity’s Strategic Subsidy Plan for 2026.

Beneficiaries and funded projects

The following amounts are granted to the natural and legal persons who obtained a score equal to or greater than 50 points, in accordance with base 6 of the call:

• Carlos Pérez Romero — project La Gran Llegada — €85,000.00
• Fernando Sánchez López — project Esfuerzo sin tregua — €110,400.00
• Making Doc Producciones, SL — project Chacho — €94,800.00
• Rubén Prieto Fernández — project Delivery — €50,000.00

Payment will be made in accordance with bases 2 and 8 of the call, charged to the budgetary application 11/3340/47902/1100. The beneficiaries certify that they are up to date with their tax obligations to the State Treasury, Social Security, and the Provincial Council itself.

Excluded and withdrawn applications

Two applications have been excluded for failing to meet the requirements to obtain beneficiary status:

• Isaac Cedillo Soto — non-compliance with base 1, by presenting a project with a budget of eligible expenses lower than the required minimum of 50,000.00 euros (excluding VAT).
• Novena Nube Producciones, SL — non-compliance with bases 1 and 3, as the entity applied for another line of subsidies or financial aid from the Provincial Council for the same purpose during 2026, both actions being incompatible.

Furthermore, in accordance with article 68.1 of Law 39/2015, Servicios Agroambientales de Extremadura, SL and Tafalita, SL are considered to have withdrawn from the procedure for failing to submit the mandatory documentation of base 4 or failing to correct the observed defects.

Surplus credit and appeals

The resolution orders the release of the surplus credit, amounting to 59,800.00 euros, so that it may be applied to other activities of the Area of Culture, Sport and Youth, Social Welfare and International Cooperation. Likewise, the resolution will be communicated to the Plenary of the Corporation in the next ordinary session.

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Delegated Deputy within one month, or directly a contentious-administrative appeal before the competent Contentious-Administrative Court within two months, counted from the day following its publication.

The resolution consolidates the Provincial Council’s support for a strategic sector for the Extremaduran cultural and audiovisual fabric, channeling 340,200 euros toward the production of new projects and guaranteeing competitiveness and rigor in the distribution of public funds.
