The Provincial Council distributes grants to 16 bullfighting associations in Guadalajara

The Provincial Council of Guadalajara has published the final resolution of the call for grants for bullfighting associations for the 2026 financial year, distributing aid among 16 peñas and entities in the province. The agreement, adopted via Decree No. 2026-9253 of September 2, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 170, dated September 4, 2026, in compliance with the Twelfth Base of the call and Article 45 of Law 39/2015.

A file processed without objections

The call, processed under File No. 3596/2026 by the Council’s Culture Service, had its provisional resolution approved by the Governing Board in the session of July 30, 2026, following the proposal of the Delegate Councilor on July 29, and was published in the BOP on August 6, 2026. After the period for objections passed without any being submitted, the proposal has been elevated to final status.

The file has been processed in accordance with Law 38/2003, General Law on Subsidies, its Regulation approved by Royal Decree 887/2006, Law 39/2015, and the Council’s General Ordinance on Subsidies. The document is signed by the president of the institution, Mr. José Luis Vega Pérez.

The 16 beneficiary entities

The grants, which range between 60% and 80% of the requested amount, are distributed among the following entities:

• Asociación Cultural Peña Taurina “El Encierro” de Galápagos — €155.49, €968.00, €2,000.00, and €800.00 (four projects)
• Peña Taurina “El Capote de San Antonio” de Aranzueque — €2,000.00
• Asociación Cultural “El Quite” de Yunquera de Henares — €1,600.00
• Asociación Peña Taurina “Saleri II” de Romanones — €2,000.00
• Asociación Taurina Villa de Atanzón — €1,542.40
• Asociación Cultural Taurina de Orea — €1,560.00
• Asociación Taurina Cultural Vacas al Henares — €1,600.00
• Asociación Taurina “La Tobilla” de Budia — €2,000.00
• Asociación Taurina Málaga del Fresno “Los Encinares” — €2,000.00
• Asociación Taurina Fuentenovilla — €1,190.00
• Asociación Escuela Taurina de Guadalajara — €2,000.00

Total amount and resources

The total amount of grants awarded amounts to approximately €23,431.89, with the Asociación Escuela Taurina de Guadalajara as one of the main beneficiaries, along with the Peña Taurina “Saleri II” de Romanones and the Asociación Taurina “La Tobilla” de Budia, all receiving €2,000.00.

The resolution exhausts all administrative remedies. An appeal for judicial review may be filed within two months before the Administrative Litigation Section of the Court of First Instance of Guadalajara, or, optionally, a motion for reconsideration may be filed within one month before the same body that issued the act.

Relevance for the sector

The call for applications consolidates the Provincial Council’s support for the bullfighting associative fabric of the province, which brings together clubs and entities from municipalities such as Galápagos, Aranzueque, Yunquera de Henares, Romanones, Atanzón, Orea, Budia, Málaga del Fresno, and Fuentenovilla. The inclusion of the Guadalajara Bullfighting School further underscores the support for the training of new enthusiasts and professionals, a key pillar for the continuity of the festivities in the province.
