La Diputación reparte 728.000 euros entre once municipios para obras y equipamientos

The Plenary of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, in an ordinary session held on October 16, 2026, approved a package of nominative grants for a total amount of 728,000.00 euros destined for eleven municipalities in the province. The agreement is published in the Official Provincial Gazette (BOP) number 201, corresponding to Monday, October 19, 2026, in announcement number 3350 (page 11), with secure verification code +QPL851jZbLk9oS7UyQC.

Modification of the Fortieth Base

The operation consists of the modification of the Fortieth Base of those regulating the current budget of the provincial institution, with the inclusion of the new contributions in the budgetary application 29900.94200.762, titled “Nominative Grants. Municipal Assistance Area.”

The document is signed by the president of the Council, Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero, and processed by the corporation’s Audit service. As these are nominative grants, the beneficiaries and purposes are determined directly in the plenary agreement, without a competitive call for applications.

Puertollano and Tomelloso concentrate the largest volume

The two most populous municipalities receive nearly half of the total. Puertollano obtains 165,000.00 euros for the recovery of greenways and the rehabilitation of the old train station of Cabezarrubias del Puerto, while Tomelloso receives 150,000.00 euros for the construction of a sociocultural building and the installation of children’s games in the Ínsula Barataria park.

The rest of the distribution is spread among smaller towns, with amounts ranging from 34,000 to 65,000 euros:

  • Almadén: 60,000.00 euros for streetlights, expansion and adaptation of the sports center restrooms, wall trimming, and installation of railings on Felipe Asensio Street.
  • Villarrubia de los Ojos: 65,000.00 euros to cover padel courts, Christmas decorations, and sound and lighting consoles.
  • Santa Cruz de Mudela: 55,000.00 euros for the adaptation of the municipal cemetery.
  • Torralba de Calatrava: 55,000.00 euros for a Local Police vehicle and improvements to the soccer field.
  • Villanueva de la Fuente: 40,000.00 euros for the acquisition of a street sweeper machine.
  • Puerto Lápice: 35,000.00 euros for an operator’s van and air conditioning equipment in the gym, the spinning room, and the retirees’ home.
  • Villamayor de Calatrava: 35,000.00 euros for bleachers at the bullring, conditioning of the “Cordel de la Plata” path, and expansion of the Town Hall.
  • Alcubillas: 34,000.00 euros for the conditioning of the old municipal slaughterhouse, phase 1.
  • Hinojosas de Calatrava: 34,000.00 euros for the conditioning of the rural path Camino de los Pantanos.

Fifteen business days for allegations

The file is submitted for public information in compliance with Article 169.1 of the Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, to which Article 177.2 refers. The period for submitting possible claims is fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOP and on the notice board.

Allegations, where applicable, shall be addressed to the provincial corporation, which will resolve the file before the execution of the contributions.

Impact on municipalities

The distribution reaches town halls of different sizes and covers very diverse actions: from sports infrastructure and service equipment to railway heritage, cemeteries, and municipal machinery. For local coffers, these nominative subsidies represent direct financing from the Provincial Council without the need to apply for calls for proposals, allowing councils to undertake investments that they would hardly be able to assume with their own resources, especially in the case of municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants included in the list.
