The Provincial Council distributes 64,633 euros among six town halls for their childcare centers

The Provincial Council of Palencia, through its Social Services Area, has issued the resolution for the grant award procedure for city councils that own childcare centers to finance current expenses incurred by their operation for the year 2026. The resolution, signed by the First Vice President, Ms. Mª José De La Fuente Fombellida, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Palencia number 102, dated August 26, 2026, with reference BDNS 888550.

The call for applications was published in the same gazette on February 25, 2026, with an initial budget of 66,000.00 euros, charged to budget item 43.23107.46202.042 of the current Budget. The award proposal was submitted by the Information Commission for Social Services, Youth, and Equality in a session held on August 18, 2026, by virtue of the competence assigned in Base 8 of the call.

Beneficiaries and amounts

The resolution allocates an expenditure of 64,633.80 euros and grants subsidies to six city councils in the province, in the amounts detailed in Annex I of the decree:

• Villalobón (file DIP/2026/2632): 12,739.44 €
• Venta de Baños (file DIP/2026/3124): 11,915.49 €
• Carrión de los Condes (file DIP/2026/3293): 10,000.00 €
• Dueñas (file DIP/2026/2753): 11,091.55 €
• Grijota (file DIP/2026/3375): 10,267.61 €
• Aguilar de Campoo (file DIP/2026/3081): 8,619.71 €

Payment method and justification

The payment of the grants will be made via bank transfer to the beneficiary entities, as provided in Base Six of the call. It will be paid in advance and in a single installment, prior to justification: 75% of the granted amount will be paid into the bank account determined by each city council, with the remaining 25% withheld as a guarantee for the correct execution and justification of the subsidized project.

After the period of five business days for the submission of waivers has elapsed, a decree will be issued by the Deputy Delegate for Finance and General Administration with the payment order for the advance. The justification of the grants must be submitted, in accordance with bases 12 and 13 of the call, before October 30, 2026.

Appeals

Against the resolution, which concludes the administrative process, interested parties may file an appeal for reversal within one month from the day following its publication before the President of the Provincial Council of Palencia, and a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Palencia within two months.

The resolution, dated in Palencia on August 20, 2026, and signed by the Secretary General, Virginia Losa Muñiz, is published in the bulletin for the purpose of notifying the interested parties. With this line of grants, the Provincial Council supports the operation of municipal childcare centers, a key service for family reconciliation in the province’s municipalities.
