The Provincial Council distributes 64,496 euros among 49 seniors' associations

The Provincial Council of Guadalajara, through its Social Welfare and Employment Service, has approved the final resolution of the call for grants for the development and implementation of programs by seniors’ associations in the province during the year 2026. The agreement, adopted by the Governing Board on August 18, 2026, is published in the BOP of Guadalajara number 162, dated August 25, 2026, and distributes a total of 64,496.20 euros among 49 entities.

The call, processed under file 2216/2026, was provisionally resolved by the Governing Board on July 14, 2026, and published in the BOP number 139, dated July 23, 2026. During that phase, interested parties were granted a period of 10 business days to submit allegations, which concluded on August 6, 2026, without any claims being registered.

A distribution adjusted to the proposed amounts

Since the amount of the grants awarded was lower than requested, beneficiaries were allowed to reformulate their applications to adapt them to the proposed amounts, provided that the object, conditions, and purpose of the aid were respected. The final total cost of the programs amounts to 81,181.69 euros, compared to the 64,496.20 euros finally granted.

The grants are destined for three types of programs:

• Cultural recreational activity, the most numerous modality, with entities such as the Association of Pensioners and Retirees of Pareja (1,264.84 €) or the Puente del Arroyo Salcedo Seniors’ Association of Arbancón (1,545.55 €).
• Improvement of physical capacity, such as the El Casar Seniors’ Club (1,790.42 €) or the Segontia Retirees and Pensioners Association of Sigüenza (1,416.61 €).
• Improvement of intellectual capacity, such as the Virgen de los Olmos Seniors’ Club of Casas de Uceda (769.54 €) or the Villa de Lupiana Seniors’ Association (1,428.18 €).

Excluded entities and waivers

The resolution also resolves the situation of several entities. The application of the La Alcarreña Seniors’ Association (file 4019/2026) is inadmissible for being submitted in person without complying with the requirement for electronic processing. The withdrawal of the Virgen de la Salceda Retirees’ Home (file 4212/2026) is declared, and the waiver of the San Lorenzo Seniors’ Club of Carrascosa de Henares (file 4099/2026) is accepted, citing the impossibility of carrying out the activity.

Obligations and deadlines

Beneficiary entities must submit the justification account for the granted aid before October 31, 2026, in accordance with the fifteenth clause of the call. This resolution concludes the administrative process and may be appealed for reversal within one month or challenged before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction within two months of its publication.

The agreement, signed in Guadalajara on August 20, 2026, by the president of the Provincial Council, José Luis Vega Pérez, consolidates institutional support for the associative network of seniors in the province, which in this edition maintains the bulk of the aid in the smallest municipalities, where these entities are often the main driver of social life and active aging.
