The Provincial Council distributes 500,999 euros in grants to 35 municipalities

Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Council of Ciudad Real has definitively approved the distribution of 500,999 euros in nominative grants to 35 town councils in the province. The decision, adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session held on July 27, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 165, dated August 28, 2026, in the local administration section.

The definitive approval comes after the modification of the Forty-First Base of those regulating the current budget, which incorporates these aids in the budgetary application 29900.94200.762, titled “Nominative Grants. Municipal Assistance Areas.” The file was made available to the public for the regulatory period without any claims being filed, which has allowed the grant to be made definitive.

Destinations of the aids

The grants finance direct improvements in municipal services, with a special emphasis on public facilities and neighborhood use spaces. The variety of purposes reflects the specific needs of each locality, from basic infrastructure to leisure and culture facilities. Destinations include:

  • Municipal swimming pools and their purification (Alamillo, Almedina, Terrinches).
  • Children’s playgrounds and municipal parks (Campo de Criptana, Pozuelo de Cva., Carrizosa).
  • Urban furniture, lighting fixtures, and street lighting (Alcoba, Fuencaliente, Luciana, Villar del Pozo).
  • Sports equipment and gyms (Alcolea de Cva., Fuente el Fresno, Torre de Juan Abad).
  • Works on municipal buildings, social centers, and town halls (Alhambra, Retuerta del Bullaque, Valenzuela de Cva.).

Municipalities and amounts

The amounts range between 10,000 and 35,000 euros per beneficiary, depending on the scale of each action. The highest grants correspond to:

  • Campo de Criptana: €35,000, improvement of children’s playgrounds.
  • Herencia: €30,000, street paving.
  • Calzada de Cva.: €22,000, infrastructure vehicle.
  • Pozuelo de Cva.: €22,000, municipal park.
  • Fuente el Fresno and Villarta de San Juan: €20,000 each, for the expansion of the municipal gym and daycare equipment, respectively.

The remaining municipalities receive amounts between 10,000 and 15,000 euros, destined for actions such as the renovation of sewage networks, climate control of public buildings, adaptation of rural houses, or installation of furniture in multipurpose centers.

The grant is supported by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. An administrative appeal may be filed against the definitive approval of this file before the Administrative Court of Ciudad Real within two months from the publication of the announcement in the gazette.

The allocation, signed by President Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero in Ciudad Real on August 26, 2026, reinforces the Provincial Council’s cooperation with the smallest municipalities in the province, which thus see works and equipment funded that they would hardly be able to afford with their own resources. The injection of 500,999 euros will have a direct and tangible impact on the quality of the services received by the province’s residents.
